What Shiftbase (BYOK) is for

Shiftbase (BYOK) lets an AI assistant read your own Shiftbase data through the Shiftbase API with a key you supply (Shiftbase application API key (Settings, App center, Public API; needs App Center Plus)). Read-only: 10 tools (list_locations, list_departments, list_teams, list_shift_templates, list_rosters, list_open_shifts, list_timesheets, list_absences, list_absence_types, list_skills). The BYOK key travels with each request, is used for that one call only and is never stored, logged or cached; it is only ever sent to api.shiftbase.com. Ask your assistant things like:

  • "What locations are set up in Shiftbase?"
  • "Which departments exist in Shiftbase?"
  • "Which teams are in the security department?"
  • "Which shift types are defined in Shiftbase?"
  • "Who is scheduled to work next week in Shiftbase?"
  • "Which Shiftbase shifts are still open next week?"

What it does

  • list_locations: List the business locations with name, city, country and order.
  • list_departments: List the departments with their location, name, address and scheduling switches such as publishing and open-shift display.
  • list_teams: List the teams, optionally within one department.
  • list_shift_templates: List the shift types (templates) with name, department, start and end time and colour.
  • list_rosters: List scheduled shifts (the roster) between two dates with employee id, team, shift, date, times and description.
  • list_open_shifts: List open shifts that still need people between two dates, with instances remaining, times and department.
  • list_timesheets: List worked-time records between two dates with employee id, scheduled and clocked times, status and total hours (wages and GPS data are left out).
  • list_absences: List absence and time-off requests between two dates with employee id, type, dates, status and hours (notes are left out).
  • list_absence_types: List the absence types (vacation, sick leave and so on) defined for the account.
  • list_skills: List the skills that can be assigned to employees and required on shifts.

BYOK key

You bring your own Shiftbase Shiftbase application API key (Settings, App center, Public API; needs App Center Plus) (https://developer.shiftbase.com/docs/core/59f133358c1fd-shiftbase-api). Your assistant sends it in the X-Upstream-Key header with each request. ConnectorBay uses it for that one call only: it is never stored, logged or cached, never shown in an answer, and it is only sent to api.shiftbase.com over https, with no redirects followed. Create a key with the fewest permissions the tools need (read-only if the provider offers it), and revoke it at the provider whenever you like.
