What Sourcehut Git (BYOK) is for

Sourcehut Git (BYOK) lets an AI assistant read your own Sourcehut Git data through the Sourcehut Git API with a key you supply (SourceHut personal access token (needs PROFILE, REPOSITORIES and OBJECTS read scopes)). Read-only: 8 tools (get_me, list_repositories, get_repository, list_commits, get_commit, list_references, get_user, list_user_repositories). The BYOK key travels with each request, is used for that one call only and is never stored, logged or cached; it is only ever sent to git.sr.ht. Unofficial connector by Unify Dynamics LLC: not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Sourcehut Git. Sourcehut Git and its logos are trademarks of their owners and are used only to say which service the connector works with.

Ask your assistant things like:

  • "Which SourceHut account is my token for?"
  • "Which git repositories do I have on SourceHut?"
  • "Show the SourceHut repository with rid rid-example-1"
  • "What are the latest commits in my SourceHut repository rid-example-1?"
  • "Show commit abcdef0 of my SourceHut repository rid-example-1"
  • "What branches and tags does my SourceHut repository rid-example-1 have?"

What it does

  • get_me: Show the SourceHut account the token belongs to: username, canonical name, email, URL, location and bio.
  • list_repositories: List the git repositories you own with name, description, visibility, HEAD branch and dates. Optionally search by text; page with the returned cursor.
  • get_repository: Get one repository by resource id: name, description, visibility, owner, HEAD reference and your access level.
  • list_commits: List recent commits of a repository (like git log), optionally starting from a revision, with id, message, author and committer.
  • get_commit: Get one commit of a repository by revision spec (commit id, branch or tag): message, author, committer and parent commits.
  • list_references: List the references (branches and tags) of a repository with their target object ids.
  • get_user: Get a SourceHut user's public profile by username: canonical name, URL, location and bio.
  • list_user_repositories: List a SourceHut user's repositories you are allowed to see, with name, description, visibility and dates.

BYOK key

You bring your own Sourcehut Git SourceHut personal access token (needs PROFILE, REPOSITORIES and OBJECTS read scopes) (https://meta.sr.ht/oauth2/personal-token). Your assistant sends it in the X-Upstream-Key header with each request. ConnectorBay uses it for that one call only: it is never stored, logged or cached, never shown in an answer, and it is only sent to git.sr.ht over https, with no redirects followed. Create a key with the fewest permissions the tools need (read-only if the provider offers it), and revoke it at the provider whenever you like.

Data sources

Live from the Sourcehut Git API (git.sr.ht) with a BYOK key; documentation: https://docs.sourcehut.org/git.sr.ht. Endpoints checked against that documentation on 2026-10-16.

What it is not

Unofficial connector by Unify Dynamics LLC: not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Sourcehut Git. Sourcehut Git and its logos are trademarks of their owners and are used only to say which service the connector works with. It is read-only: it never creates, changes, sends or deletes anything in your Sourcehut Git account.
