What SportsData.io Golf (BYOK) is for

SportsData.io Golf (BYOK) lets an AI assistant read your own SportsData.io Golf data through the SportsData.io Golf API with a key you supply (SportsData.io Golf API key). Read-only: 8 tools (get_current_season, list_tournaments, list_players, get_player, get_world_rankings, list_player_season_stats, get_leaderboard, get_final_leaderboard). The BYOK key travels with each request, is used for that one call only and is never stored, logged or cached; it is only ever sent to api.sportsdata.io. Ask your assistant things like:

  • "Which golf season is current?"
  • "Which golf tournaments are scheduled in 2026?"
  • "Which golfers are in the player list?"
  • "Tell me about golfer 40000019"
  • "Who is ranked first in the world golf rankings?"
  • "How many events has each golfer played this season?"

What it does

  • get_current_season: Get the current PGA season: id, description and start and end dates.
  • list_tournaments: List tournaments of a season with dates, venue, location, par, yardage, purse, format and status flags.
  • list_players: List golfers with name, country, college, PGA debut year and handedness.
  • get_player: Get one golfer's profile: name, country, college, PGA debut year and handedness.
  • get_world_rankings: Get the golf world rankings for a season: rank, last week's rank, events played and ranking points.
  • list_player_season_stats: List golfers' season records: world ranking, events played and ranking points.
  • get_leaderboard: Get a tournament leaderboard: tournament name and status plus every golfer's rank and score; live while a tournament is in progress. Large for full fields.
  • get_final_leaderboard: Get a finished tournament's final leaderboard: tournament name and status plus every golfer's final rank and score.

BYOK key

You bring your own SportsData.io Golf SportsData.io Golf API key (https://sportsdata.io/developers/api-documentation/golf). Your assistant sends it in the X-Upstream-Key header with each request. ConnectorBay uses it for that one call only: it is never stored, logged or cached, never shown in an answer, and it is only sent to api.sportsdata.io over https, with no redirects followed. Create a key with the fewest permissions the tools need (read-only if the provider offers it), and revoke it at the provider whenever you like.
