What Squad (BYOK) is for

Squad (BYOK) lets an AI assistant read your own Squad data through the Squad API with a key you supply (Squad secret key (starts with sk_ or sandbox_sk_)). Read-only: 5 tools (verify_transaction, get_ledger_balance, list_data_bundles, list_electricity_providers, list_sms_campaigns). The BYOK key travels with each request, is used for that one call only and is never stored, logged or cached; it is only ever sent to api-d.squadco.com. Squad and its logos are trademarks of their owners and are used only to say which service the connector works with.

Ask your assistant things like:

  • "Did Squad transaction SQCHIZ3634573076082 succeed?"
  • "What is my Squad wallet balance?"
  • "Which MTN data bundles can I vend through Squad?"
  • "Which electricity providers does Squad support?"
  • "What SMS campaigns have I created on Squad?"

What it does

  • verify_transaction: Check the status of one Squad transaction by its reference: amount, currency, status (Success, Failed, Abandoned, Pending), type and creation time (payer and merchant emails are not returned).
  • get_ledger_balance: Get your Squad wallet ledger balance in kobo (Naira only).
  • list_data_bundles: List the mobile data bundle plans (name, size, validity, price, plan code) sold through Squad for one Nigerian network.
  • list_electricity_providers: List the electricity distribution companies (code and name) available for Squad utility vending.
  • list_sms_campaigns: List your Squad bulk SMS campaigns with name, template, contact bucket, total recipients and creation time.

BYOK key

You bring your own Squad Squad secret key (starts with sk_ or sandbox_sk_) (https://docs.squadco.com/Payments/verify-transaction/). Your assistant sends it in the X-Upstream-Key header with each request. ConnectorBay uses it for that one call only: it is never stored, logged or cached, never shown in an answer, and it is only sent to api-d.squadco.com over https, with no redirects followed. Create a key with the fewest permissions the tools need (read-only if the provider offers it), and revoke it at the provider whenever you like.
