What StepFun (BYOK) is for

StepFun (BYOK) lets an AI assistant read your own StepFun data through the StepFun API with a key you supply (StepFun API key (international platform)). Read-only: 9 tools (get_account, list_models, get_model, list_files, get_file, list_knowledge_bases, get_knowledge_base, list_knowledge_base_files, list_cloned_voices). The BYOK key travels with each request, is used for that one call only and is never stored, logged or cached; it is only ever sent to api.stepfun.ai. StepFun and its logos are trademarks of their owners and are used only to say which service the connector works with.

Ask your assistant things like:

  • "How much StepFun balance do I have left?"
  • "Which models can my StepFun key use?"
  • "When was the StepFun model step-3.5-flash created?"
  • "Which files have I uploaded to StepFun?"
  • "What is the status of StepFun file file-abc123?"
  • "Which StepFun knowledge bases do I have?"

What it does

  • get_account: Get the account's type (prepaid or postpaid), available balance, total deposited amount and total promotional amount. Reads account or catalog data only: it runs no model and uses no credits.
  • list_models: List the models available to the key with creation time and owner. Reads account or catalog data only: it runs no model and uses no credits.
  • get_model: Get one model by id: creation time and owner. Reads account or catalog data only: it runs no model and uses no credits.
  • list_files: List the files uploaded to the account with name, size, purpose, status and creation time. Reads account or catalog data only: it runs no model and uses no credits.
  • get_file: Get metadata of one uploaded file by id: name, size, purpose, status and creation time. File content is not returned. Reads account or catalog data only: it runs no model and uses no credits.
  • list_knowledge_bases: List the account's knowledge bases (vector stores) with name, type and file counts by state. Reads account or catalog data only: it runs no model and uses no credits.
  • get_knowledge_base: Get one knowledge base (vector store) by id: name, type and file counts by state (in progress, completed, failed, cancelled). Reads account or catalog data only: it runs no model and uses no credits.
  • list_knowledge_base_files: List the files inside one knowledge base with creation time. Reads account or catalog data only: it runs no model and uses no credits.
  • list_cloned_voices: List the account's cloned text-to-speech voices with the source file id and creation time. Reads account or catalog data only: it runs no model and uses no credits.

BYOK key

You bring your own StepFun StepFun API key (international platform) (https://platform.stepfun.ai/). Your assistant sends it in the X-Upstream-Key header with each request. ConnectorBay uses it for that one call only: it is never stored, logged or cached, never shown in an answer, and it is only sent to api.stepfun.ai over https, with no redirects followed. Create a key with the fewest permissions the tools need (read-only if the provider offers it), and revoke it at the provider whenever you like.
