What Stoat (BYOK) is for

Stoat (BYOK) lets an AI assistant read your own Stoat data through the Stoat API with a key you supply (Stoat bot token). Read-only: 10 tools (get_server_info, get_self, get_user, get_server, list_server_members, get_channel, get_role, list_server_emoji, list_server_invites, list_server_bans). The BYOK key travels with each request, is used for that one call only and is never stored, logged or cached; it is only ever sent to api.stoat.chat. Unofficial connector by Unify Dynamics LLC: not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Stoat. Stoat and its logos are trademarks of their owners and are used only to say which service the connector works with.

Ask your assistant things like:

  • "Which version of the Stoat API is running?"
  • "Which Stoat bot is this token for?"
  • "Who is Stoat user 01FD58YK5W7QRV5H3D64KTQYX3?"
  • "How many members does my Stoat server have?"
  • "Who is in my Stoat server and which roles do they have?"
  • "What is Stoat channel 01FD58YK5W7QRV5H3D64KTQYX5 for?"

What it does

  • get_server_info: Show the Stoat instance's public configuration: API version, which features are on, websocket and app URLs.
  • get_self: Show the bot user the token belongs to: username, display name, flags, badges and status.
  • get_user: Get a Stoat user's public information by user ID: username, display name, badges, online flag and status.
  • get_server: Get a server the bot is in: name, description, owner, channel IDs, roles, default permissions and approximate member count.
  • list_server_members: List a server's members with join time, nickname and role IDs, plus the user records (username, display name, online flag).
  • get_channel: Get a channel by ID: type, name, description, server, NSFW flag, slow mode and last message ID (no message text).
  • get_role: Get one server role: name, color, rank, hoist flag and permission settings.
  • list_server_emoji: List a server's custom emoji with name, creator and animated flag.
  • list_server_invites: List a server's invites with channel, creator, uses and expiry.
  • list_server_bans: List users banned from a server with the ban reason.

BYOK key

You bring your own Stoat Stoat bot token (https://developers.stoat.chat/developers/api/authentication). Your assistant sends it in the X-Upstream-Key header with each request. ConnectorBay uses it for that one call only: it is never stored, logged or cached, never shown in an answer, and it is only sent to api.stoat.chat over https, with no redirects followed. Create a key with the fewest permissions the tools need (read-only if the provider offers it), and revoke it at the provider whenever you like.

Data sources

Live from the Stoat API (api.stoat.chat) with a BYOK key; documentation: https://developers.stoat.chat/api-reference. Endpoints checked against that documentation on 2026-10-16.

What it is not

Unofficial connector by Unify Dynamics LLC: not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Stoat. Stoat and its logos are trademarks of their owners and are used only to say which service the connector works with. It is read-only: it never creates, changes, sends or deletes anything in your Stoat account.
