What Subscan (BYOK) is for

Subscan (BYOK) lets an AI assistant read your own Subscan data through the Subscan API with a key you supply (Subscan direct API key (paid plan; free access now goes through the PubFi gateway)). Read-only: 11 tools (get_network_metadata, get_account, list_account_tokens, list_transfers, list_blocks, get_block, list_extrinsics, get_extrinsic, list_events, list_validators, list_democracy_referendums). The BYOK key travels with each request, is used for that one call only and is never stored, logged or cached; it is only ever sent to *.api.subscan.io. Unofficial connector by Unify Dynamics LLC: not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Subscan. Subscan and its logos are trademarks of their owners and are used only to say which service the connector works with.

Ask your assistant things like:

  • "What is the SS58 prefix of the Polkadot network on Subscan?"
  • "What is the balance of account 5GrwvaEF5zXb26Fz9rcQpDWS57CtERHpNehXCPcNoHGKutQY on Polkadot?"
  • "Which tokens does this Polkadot account hold?"
  • "What are the latest transfers for this Polkadot account?"
  • "What are the latest blocks on Polkadot?"
  • "Show Polkadot block 1000000"

What it does

  • get_network_metadata: Show the current network's metadata: node name, SS58 address type, current runtime and other chain settings.
  • get_account: Look up one account by Substrate address, EVM address or SS58 index: balance, locks, reserved and bonded amounts, nonce, roles and extrinsic count.
  • list_account_tokens: List the token holdings of one account (native token, assets, ERC-20 and ERC-721 where available) with balance, price, symbol, decimals and category.
  • list_transfers: List transfers on the network filtered by account, direction, token, amount, success or block range, with amounts, sender, receiver, block and timestamp.
  • list_blocks: List recent blocks with number, hash, timestamp, extrinsic and event counts, finalized flag and block author.
  • get_block: Get one block by number, hash or nearest timestamp: hash, parent hash, roots, extrinsic and event counts, finalized flag, validator and spec version.
  • list_extrinsics: List extrinsics (transactions) filtered by signer, module, call, success or block range, with hash, index, fee, tip and block time.
  • get_extrinsic: Get one extrinsic by index (block-position) or hash: call, signer, success, fee, nonce, events count, error and transfer summary.
  • list_events: List on-chain events filtered by pallet, event, extrinsic or block range with event ID, extrinsic index, phase and timestamp.
  • list_validators: List staking validators (networks with the staking pallet) with status, bonded totals, nominator count, commission value and reward points.
  • list_democracy_referendums: List democracy referendums (networks with the democracy pallet) with index, title, status, call and vote threshold.

BYOK key

You bring your own Subscan Subscan direct API key (paid plan; free access now goes through the PubFi gateway) (https://pro.subscan.io/api_service). Your assistant sends it in the X-Upstream-Key header with each request. ConnectorBay uses it for that one call only: it is never stored, logged or cached, never shown in an answer, and it is only sent to *.api.subscan.io over https, with no redirects followed. Create a key with the fewest permissions the tools need (read-only if the provider offers it), and revoke it at the provider whenever you like.

Data sources

Live from the Subscan API (*.api.subscan.io) with a BYOK key; documentation: https://support.subscan.io/doc-361776. Endpoints checked against that documentation on 2026-10-16.

What it is not

Unofficial connector by Unify Dynamics LLC: not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Subscan. Subscan and its logos are trademarks of their owners and are used only to say which service the connector works with. It is read-only: it never creates, changes, sends or deletes anything in your Subscan account.
