What Swell (BYOK) is for

Swell (BYOK) lets an AI assistant read your own Swell data through the Swell API with a key you supply (store ID). Read-only: 11 tools (list_products, get_product, list_variants, list_orders, get_order, list_categories, list_coupons, list_subscriptions, list_stock_adjustments, list_payments, list_shipments). The BYOK key travels with each request, is used for that one call only and is never stored, logged or cached; it is only ever sent to api.swell.store. What it does

  • list_products: List products with name, slug, type, price, currency, stock level and status, 15 per page by default. Filter by active flag or text.
  • get_product: Get one product by its id with price, stock and status.
  • list_variants: List product variants with name, price, currency and parent product id.
  • list_orders: List orders with number, status, totals, paid, delivered and refunded flags, coupon code and dates. Customer details are left out.
  • get_order: Get one order by its id with totals, flags, coupon code and dates. Customer details are left out.
  • list_categories: List product categories with name, slug, parent and sort position.
  • list_coupons: List coupons with name, validity dates, usage limits and use count.
  • list_subscriptions: List subscriptions with product, price, billing interval, trial and paid flags and totals. Billing and shipping details are left out.
  • list_stock_adjustments: List stock adjustments with variant, resulting level, reason and note.
  • list_payments: List payments with amount, refunded amount, method, gateway, status and order id. Card and account details are left out.
  • list_shipments: List shipments with order id, carrier service and tracking code. Destination addresses are left out.

BYOK key

You bring your own Swell store ID (https://developers.swell.is/backend-api/authentication). Your assistant sends it in the X-Upstream-Key header with each request. ConnectorBay uses it for that one call only: it is never stored, logged or cached, never shown in an answer, and it is only sent to api.swell.store over https, with no redirects followed. Create a key with the fewest permissions the tools need (read-only if the provider offers it), and revoke it at the provider whenever you like.
