What Synthesia (BYOK) is for

Synthesia (BYOK) lets an AI assistant read your own Synthesia data through the Synthesia API with a key you supply (Synthesia API key (Legacy v2 scope)). Read-only: 5 tools (list_videos, get_video, list_templates, get_template, get_credit_balance). The BYOK key travels with each request, is used for that one call only and is never stored, logged or cached; it is only ever sent to api.synthesia.io. Unofficial connector by Unify Dynamics LLC: not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Synthesia. Synthesia and its logos are trademarks of their owners and are used only to say which service the connector works with.

Ask your assistant things like:

  • "Which Synthesia videos are still rendering?"
  • "Is Synthesia video 5d8f3c done rendering?"
  • "Which Synthesia templates can I use?"
  • "Which variables does Synthesia template tmpl_123 take?"
  • "How many Synthesia credits do I have left?"

What it does

  • list_videos: List videos created through the API or in Studio, with render status, duration, visibility and download link when complete.
  • get_video: Get one video by id with status (in_progress, complete, error, ...), duration and download link when ready.
  • list_templates: List Studio templates (Synthesia's own and your workspace's) with ids, visibility and duration.
  • get_template: Get one template by id including the variables you can fill when creating a video from it.
  • get_credit_balance: Show the workspace's current billing period and its credit balance (total, consumed, available).

BYOK key

You bring your own Synthesia Synthesia API key (Legacy v2 scope) (https://app.synthesia.io/). Your assistant sends it in the X-Upstream-Key header with each request. ConnectorBay uses it for that one call only: it is never stored, logged or cached, never shown in an answer, and it is only sent to api.synthesia.io over https, with no redirects followed. Create a key with the fewest permissions the tools need (read-only if the provider offers it), and revoke it at the provider whenever you like.
