What Teamwork Config (BYOK) is for

Teamwork Config (BYOK) lets an AI assistant read your own Teamwork Config data through the Teamwork Config API with a key you supply (Teamwork.com API key). Read-only: 7 tools (list_tags, list_project_categories, list_workflows, list_skills, list_job_roles, list_custom_fields, list_project_templates). The BYOK key travels with each request, is used for that one call only and is never stored, logged or cached; it is only ever sent to *.teamwork.com. Unofficial connector by Unify Dynamics LLC: not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Teamwork Config. Teamwork Config and its logos are trademarks of their owners and are used only to say which service the connector works with.

Ask your assistant things like:

  • "Which tags exist in Teamwork.com?"
  • "Which project categories does Teamwork.com have?"
  • "Which workflows are set up in Teamwork.com?"
  • "Which skills are defined in Teamwork.com?"
  • "Which job roles are defined in Teamwork.com?"
  • "Which custom fields does Teamwork.com define for tasks?"

What it does

  • list_tags: List the tags defined in a Teamwork.com site with color and the project they belong to (site-wide tags have none).
  • list_project_categories: List the project categories with color, parent category and number of projects in each.
  • list_workflows: List the workflows (sets of board stages) of a Teamwork.com site with name and whether each is the default.
  • list_skills: List the skills defined for resource planning with creation and update times (people holding each skill are not returned).
  • list_job_roles: List the job roles defined for resource planning with active flag and creation and update times (people in each role are not returned).
  • list_custom_fields: List custom field definitions with name, type (text, dropdown, financial, date ...), the item kind they apply to, required flag, project scope and dropdown choices.
  • list_project_templates: List project templates with name, description, type, status and creation time.

BYOK key

You bring your own Teamwork Config Teamwork.com API key (https://apidocs.teamwork.com/guides/teamwork/getting-started-with-the-teamwork-com-api). Your assistant sends it in the X-Upstream-Key header with each request. ConnectorBay uses it for that one call only: it is never stored, logged or cached, never shown in an answer, and it is only sent to *.teamwork.com over https, with no redirects followed. Create a key with the fewest permissions the tools need (read-only if the provider offers it), and revoke it at the provider whenever you like.

Data sources

Live from the Teamwork Config API (*.teamwork.com) with a BYOK key; documentation: https://apidocs.teamwork.com/docs/teamwork. Endpoints checked against that documentation on 2026-10-16.

What it is not

Unofficial connector by Unify Dynamics LLC: not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Teamwork Config. Teamwork Config and its logos are trademarks of their owners and are used only to say which service the connector works with. It is read-only: it never creates, changes, sends or deletes anything in your Teamwork Config account.
