What Trengo (BYOK) is for

Trengo (BYOK) lets an AI assistant read your own Trengo data through the Trengo API with a key you supply (Trengo personal access token). Read-only: 8 tools (list_tickets, list_ticket_messages, list_contacts, get_contact, list_whatsapp_templates, list_agents_for_reporting, get_ticket_details_report, get_agent_performance_report). The BYOK key travels with each request, is used for that one call only and is never stored, logged or cached; it is only ever sent to app.trengo.com. Unofficial connector by Unify Dynamics LLC: not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Trengo. Trengo and its logos are trademarks of their owners and are used only to say which service the connector works with.

Ask your assistant things like:

  • "Which Trengo tickets are still open?"
  • "What was said in Trengo ticket 2501567?"
  • "Find the Trengo contact with email jane@example.com"
  • "Show Trengo contact 1"
  • "Which of my Trengo WhatsApp templates are approved?"
  • "Which Trengo agents are online right now?"

What it does

  • list_tickets: List Trengo tickets (conversations) the key's user may see, newest first, with status, subject, channel and latest message. 120 requests per minute.
  • list_ticket_messages: List the messages of one Trengo ticket (20 per page) with direction, type, text, sender contact and time. Internal notes are included.
  • list_contacts: List or search Trengo contacts (customers) by name, email or phone number. Shows the fields the account stores.
  • get_contact: Get one Trengo contact: name, email, phone, custom field values and dates.
  • list_whatsapp_templates: List the WhatsApp message templates of the account with title, body text, language, category, approval status and buttons. Read only; nothing is sent.
  • list_agents_for_reporting: List Trengo agents with chat and voice status and whether each is online (up to 25 per request).
  • get_ticket_details_report: Report on tickets created in a period: status, first reply and resolution times (with and without business hours), channel, labels and messages sent. 25 per page.
  • get_agent_performance_report: Report per agent for a period: messages sent, notes, assigned tickets and average response and resolution times.

BYOK key

You bring your own Trengo Trengo personal access token (https://developers.trengo.com/docs/rate-limiting). Your assistant sends it in the X-Upstream-Key header with each request. ConnectorBay uses it for that one call only: it is never stored, logged or cached, never shown in an answer, and it is only sent to app.trengo.com over https, with no redirects followed. Create a key with the fewest permissions the tools need (read-only if the provider offers it), and revoke it at the provider whenever you like.

Data sources

Live from the Trengo API (app.trengo.com) with a BYOK key; documentation: https://developers.trengo.com/docs/rate-limiting. Endpoints checked against that documentation on 2026-10-16.

What it is not

Unofficial connector by Unify Dynamics LLC: not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Trengo. Trengo and its logos are trademarks of their owners and are used only to say which service the connector works with. It is read-only: it never creates, changes, sends or deletes anything in your Trengo account.
