What Twelve Labs (BYOK) is for
Twelve Labs (BYOK) lets an AI assistant read your own Twelve Labs data through the Twelve Labs API with a key you supply (Twelve Labs API key). Read-only: 8 tools (list_indexes, get_index, list_indexed_assets, get_indexed_asset, list_assets, get_asset, list_entity_collections, list_indexing_tasks). The BYOK key travels with each request, is used for that one call only and is never stored, logged or cached; it is only ever sent to api.twelvelabs.io. Unofficial connector by Unify Dynamics LLC: not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Twelve Labs. Twelve Labs and its logos are trademarks of their owners and are used only to say which service the connector works with.
Ask your assistant things like:
- "Which Twelve Labs indexes do I have and how many videos are in each?"
- "Show details of Twelve Labs index 62d85fe7340fa665f1fda5dd"
- "Which videos in my index have finished indexing?"
- "What is the status and resolution of indexed video 6298d673f1090f1100476d4c?"
- "What files have I uploaded to Twelve Labs?"
- "Did asset 6298d673f1090f1100476aaa finish processing?"
What it does
list_indexes: List your video indexes with model names, video count, total duration and creation time.get_index: Get one index by id: name, models and options enabled, video count, total duration and expiry.list_indexed_assets: List the videos (indexed assets) of one index with indexing status, filename, duration and resolution.get_indexed_asset: Get one indexed video: status, system metadata and any user-defined metadata (no embeddings or transcript).list_assets: List uploaded assets (video, audio, image, document files) newest first with status, filename, type, size and duration.get_asset: Get one uploaded asset: status, filename, MIME type, size, duration and any processing error.list_entity_collections: List entity collections (named groups of people, objects or brands used for entity search) with description and dates.list_indexing_tasks: List video indexing tasks (an older interface, being retired) with status, index, filename and times.
BYOK key
You bring your own Twelve Labs Twelve Labs API key (https://playground.twelvelabs.io/dashboard/api-keys). Your assistant sends it in the X-Upstream-Key header with each request. ConnectorBay uses it for that one call only: it is never stored, logged or cached, never shown in an answer, and it is only sent to api.twelvelabs.io over https, with no redirects followed. Create a key with the fewest permissions the tools need (read-only if the provider offers it), and revoke it at the provider whenever you like.
