What Twilio Usage (BYOK) is for

Twilio Usage (BYOK) lets an AI assistant read your own Twilio Usage data through the Twilio Usage API with a key you supply (Account SID or API key SID (use a restricted API key, SID starts with SK, rather than the main Auth Token where possible)). Read-only: 10 tools (get_balance, list_usage_today, list_usage_yesterday, list_usage_this_month, list_usage_last_month, list_usage_daily, list_usage_monthly, list_usage_all_time, list_usage_triggers, get_usage_trigger). The BYOK key travels with each request, is used for that one call only and is never stored, logged or cached; it is only ever sent to api.twilio.com. Unofficial connector by Unify Dynamics LLC: not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Twilio Usage. Twilio Usage and its logos are trademarks of their owners and are used only to say which service the connector works with.

Ask your assistant things like:

  • "How much Twilio balance do I have left?"
  • "How much did my Twilio account spend today?"
  • "What was my Twilio usage yesterday?"
  • "What is my Twilio spend this month by category?"
  • "How much did Twilio cost me last month?"
  • "Show my Twilio usage per day last week"

What it does

  • get_balance: Show the account balance with currency.
  • list_usage_today: List usage and spend per category for today, with count, usage, price and unit. Only reads; nothing is billed for the read.
  • list_usage_yesterday: List usage and spend per category for yesterday, with count, usage, price and unit. Only reads; nothing is billed for the read.
  • list_usage_this_month: List usage and spend per category for the current month so far, with count, usage, price and unit. Only reads; nothing is billed for the read.
  • list_usage_last_month: List usage and spend per category for the previous month, with count, usage, price and unit. Only reads; nothing is billed for the read.
  • list_usage_daily: List usage and spend per category for each day in the chosen date range, with count, usage, price and unit. Only reads; nothing is billed for the read.
  • list_usage_monthly: List usage and spend per category for each month in the chosen date range, with count, usage, price and unit. Only reads; nothing is billed for the read.
  • list_usage_all_time: List usage and spend per category for the whole life of the account, with count, usage, price and unit. Only reads; nothing is billed for the read.
  • list_usage_triggers: List usage triggers (alerts fired when usage or spend crosses a value) with current value and last fired time. Callback URLs are not returned.
  • get_usage_trigger: Get one usage trigger: category, threshold, current value, recurrence and last fired time.

BYOK key

You bring your own Twilio Usage Account SID or API key SID (use a restricted API key, SID starts with SK, rather than the main Auth Token where possible) (https://www.twilio.com/docs/iam/api-keys/keys-in-console). Your assistant sends it in the X-Upstream-Key header with each request. ConnectorBay uses it for that one call only: it is never stored, logged or cached, never shown in an answer, and it is only sent to api.twilio.com over https, with no redirects followed. Create a key with the fewest permissions the tools need (read-only if the provider offers it), and revoke it at the provider whenever you like.

Data sources

Live from the Twilio Usage API (api.twilio.com) with a BYOK key; documentation: https://www.twilio.com/docs/usage/api/usage-record. Endpoints checked against that documentation on 2026-10-16.

What it is not

Unofficial connector by Unify Dynamics LLC: not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Twilio Usage. Twilio Usage and its logos are trademarks of their owners and are used only to say which service the connector works with. It is read-only: it never creates, changes, sends or deletes anything in your Twilio Usage account.
