What Twitch (BYOK) is for

Twitch (BYOK) lets an AI assistant read your own Twitch data through the Twitch API with a key you supply (app or user access token). Read-only: 10 tools (get_users, get_streams, get_top_games, get_game, get_channel, search_channels, search_categories, list_broadcaster_clips, list_game_clips, list_videos). The BYOK key travels with each request, is used for that one call only and is never stored, logged or cached; it is only ever sent to api.twitch.tv. Unofficial connector by Unify Dynamics LLC: not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Twitch. Twitch and its logos are trademarks of their owners and are used only to say which service the connector works with.

Ask your assistant things like:

  • "Who is the Twitch user twitchdev?"
  • "Which Twitch streams are live right now?"
  • "What are the top games on Twitch right now?"
  • "What is the Twitch id of the game Fortnite?"
  • "What is the stream title and game of Twitch channel 141981764?"
  • "Find Twitch channels named like 'speedrun'"

What it does

  • get_users: Look up a Twitch user by login name or user id: display name, broadcaster type, description, profile image and account creation date. With neither parameter and a user access token, returns the token's own user.
  • get_streams: List live Twitch streams, most viewers first, optionally filtered by one user, one game id or one language: title, game, viewer count, start time.
  • get_top_games: List the games and categories with the most viewers on Twitch right now, with id, name and IGDB id.
  • get_game: Look up one game or category by exact name, Twitch id or IGDB id: returns id, name, IGDB id and box art URL template. Give exactly one of name, id or igdb_id.
  • get_channel: Get a channel's current settings by broadcaster id: stream title, game, language, tags, delay and branded-content flag.
  • search_channels: Search Twitch channels by name (prefix match) that streamed in the past 6 months; set live_only to see only channels live now.
  • search_categories: Search Twitch games and categories by name; returns id and name. Use the id with get_streams or the clip tools.
  • list_broadcaster_clips: List clips captured from one broadcaster's streams, most viewed first, optionally within a start and end time (RFC 3339). At most about 1000 clips can be paged.
  • list_game_clips: List clips captured while a game or category was being streamed, most viewed first, optionally within a start and end time (RFC 3339).
  • list_videos: List a broadcaster's published videos (past broadcasts, highlights, uploads) with title, duration, view count and dates.

BYOK key

You bring your own Twitch app or user access token (https://dev.twitch.tv/console/apps). Your assistant sends it in the X-Upstream-Key header with each request. ConnectorBay uses it for that one call only: it is never stored, logged or cached, never shown in an answer, and it is only sent to api.twitch.tv over https, with no redirects followed. Create a key with the fewest permissions the tools need (read-only if the provider offers it), and revoke it at the provider whenever you like.

Data sources

Live from the Twitch API (api.twitch.tv) with a BYOK key; documentation: https://dev.twitch.tv/docs/api/reference/. Endpoints checked against that documentation on 2026-10-16.

What it is not

Unofficial connector by Unify Dynamics LLC: not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Twitch. Twitch and its logos are trademarks of their owners and are used only to say which service the connector works with. It is read-only: it never creates, changes, sends or deletes anything in your Twitch account.
