What Tyk Cloud (BYOK) is for

Tyk Cloud (BYOK) lets an AI assistant read your own Tyk Cloud data through the Tyk Cloud API with a key you supply (Tyk Dashboard API access credentials (from your Dashboard user profile)). Read-only: 8 tools (list_apis, get_api, list_api_versions, list_api_categories, list_policies, list_certificates, list_governance_rulesets, get_api_compliance). The BYOK key travels with each request, is used for that one call only and is never stored, logged or cached; it is only ever sent to *.cloud.tyk.io.   • "Which Tyk policies are active and what rate limits do they set?"

What it does

  • list_apis: List API definitions (classic and OAS) with id, name, active flag, authentication mode, listen path, categories and governance compliance status. Upstream target URLs are not returned.
  • get_api: Get one API definition by id with name, slug, active flag, authentication mode, listen path, categories, compliance status and timestamps.
  • list_api_versions: List the versions of one OAS API with name, version name, whether it is the default and whether it is internal, plus expiry date.
  • list_api_categories: List API categories with the number of APIs in each.
  • list_policies: List security policies with name, active flag, rate limit, quota, key expiry and tags. Access rights are not requested.
  • list_certificates: List certificate metadata (id, fingerprint, validity dates, CA flag, DNS names). Private keys and certificate bodies are not returned.
  • list_governance_rulesets: List governance rulesets with name, description, resource type, action, categories and active flag. The rule definitions are not returned.
  • get_api_compliance: Get the governance compliance of one API: overall status and, per ruleset, status, error, warning, info and hint counts and compliance level.

BYOK key

You bring your own Tyk Cloud Tyk Dashboard API access credentials (from your Dashboard user profile) (https://tyk.io/docs/tyk-dashboard-api). Your assistant sends it in the X-Upstream-Key header with each request. ConnectorBay uses it for that one call only: it is never stored, logged or cached, never shown in an answer, and it is only sent to *.cloud.tyk.io over https, with no redirects followed. Create a key with the fewest permissions the tools need (read-only if the provider offers it), and revoke it at the provider whenever you like.
