What Unkey (BYOK) is for

Unkey (BYOK) lets an AI assistant read your own Unkey data through the Unkey API with a key you supply (Unkey root key with read permissions). Read-only: 10 tools (list_projects, list_apps, list_environments, list_deployments, list_domains, get_api, list_api_keys, list_identities, list_roles, list_ratelimit_namespaces). The BYOK key travels with each request, is used for that one call only and is never stored, logged or cached; it is only ever sent to api.unkey.com. Unofficial connector by Unify Dynamics LLC: not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Unkey. Unkey and its logos are trademarks of their owners and are used only to say which service the connector works with.

Ask your assistant things like:

  • "Which Unkey projects do I have?"
  • "What apps are in my Unkey project billing?"
  • "Which environments does the api app in billing have?"
  • "What were the latest Unkey deployments and did any fail?"
  • "Are my Unkey custom domains verified?"
  • "What is the name of my Unkey API api_1234?"

What it does

  • list_projects: List projects in the workspace with name, slug and delete protection.
  • list_apps: List the apps of one project with source type, repository, current deployment and rollback state.
  • list_environments: List the environments (production, preview) of one app with runtime and region settings.
  • list_deployments: List deployments newest first with status, environment, app, git commit and branch, regions and errors.
  • list_domains: List custom domains with verification status, project, app and environment.
  • get_api: Get the name of an API namespace by its id.
  • list_api_keys: List the keys of one API namespace with prefix, name, enabled flag, last use, expiry, roles, permissions and remaining credits. Key values are never returned.
  • list_identities: List identities with external ID and rate limit configuration.
  • list_roles: List roles with description and their assigned permissions.
  • list_ratelimit_namespaces: List the rate limit namespaces used by your services.

BYOK key

You bring your own Unkey Unkey root key with read permissions (https://app.unkey.com). Your assistant sends it in the X-Upstream-Key header with each request. ConnectorBay uses it for that one call only: it is never stored, logged or cached, never shown in an answer, and it is only sent to api.unkey.com over https, with no redirects followed. Create a key with the fewest permissions the tools need (read-only if the provider offers it), and revoke it at the provider whenever you like.

Data sources

Live from the Unkey API (api.unkey.com) with a BYOK key; documentation: https://www.unkey.com/docs/platform/api/authentication. Endpoints checked against that documentation on 2026-10-16.

What it is not

Unofficial connector by Unify Dynamics LLC: not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Unkey. Unkey and its logos are trademarks of their owners and are used only to say which service the connector works with. It is read-only: it never creates, changes, sends or deletes anything in your Unkey account.
