What Unstructured (BYOK) is for

Unstructured (BYOK) lets an AI assistant read your own Unstructured data through the Unstructured API with a key you supply (Unstructured API key). Read-only: 12 tools (list_workflows, get_workflow, list_jobs, get_job, get_job_details, get_job_failed_files, get_job_file_status, list_sources, list_destinations, list_templates, get_usage, list_notifications). The BYOK key travels with each request, is used for that one call only and is never stored, logged or cached; it is only ever sent to platform.unstructuredapp.io. What it does

  • list_workflows: List workflows with name, status, source and destination ids, schedule and creation time.
  • get_workflow: Get one workflow with its processing nodes (partition, chunk, embed and so on) and settings.
  • list_jobs: List processing jobs with status, workflow, runtime, failed file count and completion issue. Filter by workflow or status.
  • get_job: Get one job with status, runtime, input file ids, output files per node and failure reason.
  • get_job_details: Show a job's progress per processing node with ready, in-progress, success and failure counts, plus a document total.
  • get_job_failed_files: List the files of a job that failed, with the error and the node where they failed.
  • get_job_file_status: Show the processing status of each file in a job, with current node and elapsed time.
  • list_sources: List source connectors with name, type and creation time. Connection settings and secrets are not shown.
  • list_destinations: List destination connectors with name, type and creation time. Connection settings and secrets are not shown.
  • list_templates: List the workflow templates Unstructured provides with name, version and description.
  • get_usage: Show metered usage for the organization between two UTC days: totals per action and unit, and per-day measures.
  • list_notifications: List workflow notification events (job finished, job failed and similar) with workflow id, time and read state.

BYOK key

You bring your own Unstructured Unstructured API key (https://platform.unstructured.io/app/account/api-keys). Your assistant sends it in the X-Upstream-Key header with each request. ConnectorBay uses it for that one call only: it is never stored, logged or cached, never shown in an answer, and it is only sent to platform.unstructuredapp.io over https, with no redirects followed. Create a key with the fewest permissions the tools need (read-only if the provider offers it), and revoke it at the provider whenever you like.
