What Validin (BYOK) is for
Validin (BYOK) lets an AI assistant read your own Validin data through the Validin API with a key you supply (Validin API key). Read-only: 12 tools (get_api_usage, get_api_usage_daily, get_domain_dns_history, get_domain_a_history, get_domain_ns_history, get_domain_hostnames, list_subdomains, get_domain_certificates, get_domain_registration_history, get_domain_reputation, get_ip_reputation, get_ip_dns_history). The BYOK key travels with each request, is used for that one call only and is never stored, logged or cached; it is only ever sent to app.validin.com. Unofficial connector by Unify Dynamics LLC: not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Validin. Validin and its logos are trademarks of their owners and are used only to say which service the connector works with.
Ask your assistant things like:
- "How many Validin queries have I used?"
- "How many Validin API queries did I make each day?"
- "What DNS records has example.com had over time?"
- "Which IPv4 addresses has example.com pointed to?"
- "Which nameservers has example.com used?"
- "What PTR records point at example.com?"
What it does
get_api_usage: Show how much of your Validin query allowance you have used (today and this month) for the current API key.get_api_usage_daily: Show your Validin API usage broken down by day.get_domain_dns_history: Get all historical DNS records (A, AAAA and NS) Validin has seen for a domain, with first and last seen times.get_domain_a_history: Get the historical A (IPv4) records for a domain.get_domain_ns_history: Get the historical nameserver (NS) records for a domain.get_domain_hostnames: Find the historical reverse-DNS (PTR) records for a domain.list_subdomains: Enumerate subdomains Validin has observed for a domain.get_domain_certificates: Find historic certificates from the certificate transparency stream that covered a domain.get_domain_registration_history: View normalized WHOIS and RDAP registration history for a domain (key dates and attributes, privacy-redacted fields removed).get_domain_reputation: Get Validin's quick reputation verdict for a domain.get_ip_reputation: Get Validin's quick reputation verdict for an IP address.get_ip_dns_history: Find the DNS records (A or AAAA) Validin has observed pointing at an IP address.
BYOK key
You bring your own Validin Validin API key (https://docs.validin.com/docs/manage-api-keys). Your assistant sends it in the X-Upstream-Key header with each request. ConnectorBay uses it for that one call only: it is never stored, logged or cached, never shown in an answer, and it is only sent to app.validin.com over https, with no redirects followed. Create a key with the fewest permissions the tools need (read-only if the provider offers it), and revoke it at the provider whenever you like.
