What Vantage (BYOK) is for

Vantage (BYOK) lets an AI assistant read your own Vantage data through the Vantage API with a key you supply (Vantage API token with read scope). Read-only: 10 tools (get_me, list_cost_reports, get_cost_report, get_costs, list_budgets, list_anomaly_alerts, list_recommendations, list_integrations, list_dashboards, list_folders). The BYOK key travels with each request, is used for that one call only and is never stored, logged or cached; it is only ever sent to api.vantage.sh. Ask your assistant things like:

  • "Which Vantage workspaces can my API token see?"
  • "Which Vantage cost reports do we have?"
  • "Show the settings of Vantage cost report rprt_1234"
  • "What did we spend per service in cost report rprt_1234 this month?"
  • "Which Vantage budgets are defined?"
  • "Were there any cost anomalies on AWS this month?"

What it does

  • get_me: Show the authenticated token: its workspaces (with currency), default workspace and dashboard tokens, scope and whether it belongs to the account owner.
  • list_cost_reports: List cost reports with title, folder, filter, groupings, date range and interval.
  • get_cost_report: Get one cost report with its VQL filter, groupings, settings (credits, refunds, tax, amortize), forecast and date range.
  • get_costs: Query costs for a cost report or a VQL filter over a date range, grouped by provider, service, account, region or tag, with totals.
  • list_budgets: List budgets with name, type (cost or usage), unit, cost report and child budgets.
  • list_anomaly_alerts: List cost anomaly alerts with provider, service, amount against the previous amount and seven-day average, and review status.
  • list_recommendations: List cost savings recommendations with type, provider, service, potential savings and affected resource count.
  • list_integrations: List connected provider integrations (AWS, GCP, Azure, Datadog and others) with account identifier and sync status.
  • list_dashboards: List dashboards with title, date range, interval and workspace.
  • list_folders: List the folders that organize cost reports, with title, type and parent folder.

BYOK key

You bring your own Vantage Vantage API token with read scope (https://console.vantage.sh/settings/access_tokens). Your assistant sends it in the X-Upstream-Key header with each request. ConnectorBay uses it for that one call only: it is never stored, logged or cached, never shown in an answer, and it is only sent to api.vantage.sh over https, with no redirects followed. Create a key with the fewest permissions the tools need (read-only if the provider offers it), and revoke it at the provider whenever you like.
