What VdoCipher (BYOK) is for

VdoCipher (BYOK) lets an AI assistant read your own VdoCipher data through the VdoCipher API with a key you supply (VdoCipher API secret key). Read-only: 6 tools (list_videos, get_video, list_video_files, list_video_chapters, list_tags, list_policies). The BYOK key travels with each request, is used for that one call only and is never stored, logged or cached; it is only ever sent to dev.vdocipher.com. What it does

  • list_videos: List videos in your VdoCipher library with title, length in seconds, upload time, status and available resolutions. Optionally filter by tags.
  • get_video: Get one video's title, description, length, upload time, status, visibility and resolutions.
  • list_video_files: List the encoded files of one video with format, size, resolution, bitrate and whether each can be downloaded or deleted.
  • list_video_chapters: List the chapters of one video with id, title and start time in seconds.
  • list_tags: List the tags used in your library with the number of videos per tag. Pages hold 10 tags.
  • list_policies: List your saved playback policies with time-to-live, rental duration, geo rules, domain whitelist mode and dates.

BYOK key

You bring your own VdoCipher VdoCipher API secret key (https://www.vdocipher.com/dashboard/video/#/config/). Your assistant sends it in the X-Upstream-Key header with each request. ConnectorBay uses it for that one call only: it is never stored, logged or cached, never shown in an answer, and it is only sent to dev.vdocipher.com over https, with no redirects followed. Create a key with the fewest permissions the tools need (read-only if the provider offers it), and revoke it at the provider whenever you like.
