What Vectara (BYOK) is for

Vectara (BYOK) lets an AI assistant read your own Vectara data through the Vectara API with a key you supply (personal or query/index API key). Read-only: 10 tools (list_corpora, get_corpus, list_documents, list_jobs, list_agents, list_agent_sessions, list_pipelines, list_llms, list_encoders, list_query_history). The BYOK key travels with each request, is used for that one call only and is never stored, logged or cached; it is only ever sent to api.vectara.io. Unofficial connector by Unify Dynamics LLC: not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Vectara. Vectara and its logos are trademarks of their owners and are used only to say which service the connector works with.

Ask your assistant things like:

  • "Which Vectara corpora do I have?"
  • "How big is my Vectara corpus support-docs?"
  • "What documents are in my Vectara corpus support-docs?"
  • "Are any Vectara background jobs still running?"
  • "Which Vectara agents do I have and are they enabled?"
  • "Show recent sessions of my Vectara agent support-bot"

What it does

  • list_corpora: List the corpora (search indexes) of the account with key, name, enabled flag, encoder and creation time.
  • get_corpus: Get one corpus's settings, filter attributes and usage against its limits (documents, parts, bytes).
  • list_documents: List documents stored in a corpus (document IDs and metadata, not the full text).
  • list_jobs: List background jobs (index rebuilds, bulk deletes and metadata updates) with state and timing.
  • list_agents: List AI agents defined in the account with name, description, enabled flag and update time.
  • list_agent_sessions: List the conversation sessions of one agent with name, status and creation time.
  • list_pipelines: List data pipelines that sync external sources into corpora, with source type, sync mode, status and enabled flag.
  • list_llms: List the language models available for generation with provider type, model name, ownership and default flag.
  • list_encoders: List the embedding encoders with output dimensions, default flag and image support.
  • list_query_history: List past queries with text, corpus, latency and consistency score (needs history saving on the corpus).

BYOK key

You bring your own Vectara personal or query/index API key (https://console.vectara.com). Your assistant sends it in the X-Upstream-Key header with each request. ConnectorBay uses it for that one call only: it is never stored, logged or cached, never shown in an answer, and it is only sent to api.vectara.io over https, with no redirects followed. Create a key with the fewest permissions the tools need (read-only if the provider offers it), and revoke it at the provider whenever you like.

Data sources

Live from the Vectara API (api.vectara.io) with a BYOK key; documentation: https://docs.vectara.com/docs/rest-api/vectara-rest-api-v-2. Endpoints checked against that documentation on 2026-10-16.

What it is not

Unofficial connector by Unify Dynamics LLC: not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Vectara. Vectara and its logos are trademarks of their owners and are used only to say which service the connector works with. It is read-only: it never creates, changes, sends or deletes anything in your Vectara account.
