What Wakatime Summaries (BYOK) is for
Wakatime Summaries (BYOK) lets an AI assistant read your own Wakatime Summaries data through the Wakatime Summaries API with a key you supply (OAuth access token (WakaTime documents API keys as write-only, so reading needs an access token from an OAuth app)). Read-only: 7 tools (get_summaries, get_status_bar_today, list_user_agents, list_private_leaderboards, list_editors, list_program_languages, get_aggregate_stats). The BYOK key travels with each request, is used for that one call only and is never stored, logged or cached; it is only ever sent to api.wakatime.com. Unofficial connector by Unify Dynamics LLC: not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Wakatime Summaries. Wakatime Summaries and its logos are trademarks of their owners and are used only to say which service the connector works with.
Ask your assistant things like:
- "How much did I code each day last week, by project and language?"
- "How long have I coded today?"
- "Which editors and plugins have reported coding time to WakaTime?"
- "Which private WakaTime leaderboards am I in?"
- "Which editors does WakaTime support?"
- "Which programming languages does WakaTime recognize?"
What it does
get_summaries: Your coding activity per day for a date range, each day with total time and the breakdown by category, project, language, editor and operating system. Needs start and end, or a named range.get_status_bar_today: Your coding activity today (the numbers shown in editor status bars): total time and breakdown by project, language and editor. Served from a cache.list_user_agents: List the plugins and tools that have sent you coding activity: editor, plugin version, operating system, AI model detected, and when last seen.list_private_leaderboards: List your private leaderboards with name, member count and time range.list_editors: List the editors and IDEs WakaTime has plugins for, with latest plugin version and website (public data).list_program_languages: List the programming languages WakaTime verifies, with chart color and dates (public data).get_aggregate_stats: Aggregate coding stats of all WakaTime users for the last 7 days or a past year: time per category, average, median and maximum (public data).
BYOK key
You bring your own Wakatime Summaries OAuth access token (WakaTime documents API keys as write-only, so reading needs an access token from an OAuth app) (https://wakatime.com/apps). Your assistant sends it in the X-Upstream-Key header with each request. ConnectorBay uses it for that one call only: it is never stored, logged or cached, never shown in an answer, and it is only sent to api.wakatime.com over https, with no redirects followed. Create a key with the fewest permissions the tools need (read-only if the provider offers it), and revoke it at the provider whenever you like.
