What Wakatime Teams (BYOK) is for

Wakatime Teams (BYOK) lets an AI assistant read your own Wakatime Teams data through the Wakatime Teams API with a key you supply (OAuth access token with the read_orgs scope (WakaTime documents API keys as write-only, so reading needs an access token from an OAuth app)). Read-only: 5 tools (list_orgs, list_org_dashboards, list_dashboard_members, get_dashboard_summaries, list_org_custom_rules). The BYOK key travels with each request, is used for that one call only and is never stored, logged or cached; it is only ever sent to api.wakatime.com. Unofficial connector by Unify Dynamics LLC: not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Wakatime Teams. Wakatime Teams and its logos are trademarks of their owners and are used only to say which service the connector works with.

Ask your assistant things like:

  • "Which WakaTime organizations am I in?"
  • "What team dashboards does our WakaTime org have?"
  • "Who is on the engineering WakaTime dashboard?"
  • "How much did the team code yesterday in WakaTime?"
  • "What custom coding-activity rules does our WakaTime org have?"

What it does

  • list_orgs: List the WakaTime organizations you belong to with people count, pending invites, whether durations are visible to members, timezone and keystroke timeout. Needs the read_orgs scope.
  • list_org_dashboards: List the team dashboards of an organization with member count, timezone, creator name and restriction flags.
  • list_dashboard_members: List the members of a team dashboard by username, with the view-only flag (emails are not returned).
  • get_dashboard_summaries: One day's coding activity for each member of a team dashboard: total time and breakdown by project, language and editor. Members are identified by username only.
  • list_org_custom_rules: List the organization's heartbeat rewrite rules (match, operation, replacement, priority).

BYOK key

You bring your own Wakatime Teams OAuth access token with the read_orgs scope (WakaTime documents API keys as write-only, so reading needs an access token from an OAuth app) (https://wakatime.com/apps). Your assistant sends it in the X-Upstream-Key header with each request. ConnectorBay uses it for that one call only: it is never stored, logged or cached, never shown in an answer, and it is only sent to api.wakatime.com over https, with no redirects followed. Create a key with the fewest permissions the tools need (read-only if the provider offers it), and revoke it at the provider whenever you like.

Data sources

Live from the Wakatime Teams API (api.wakatime.com) with a BYOK key; documentation: https://wakatime.com/developers. Endpoints checked against that documentation on 2026-10-16.

What it is not

Unofficial connector by Unify Dynamics LLC: not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Wakatime Teams. Wakatime Teams and its logos are trademarks of their owners and are used only to say which service the connector works with. It is read-only: it never creates, changes, sends or deletes anything in your Wakatime Teams account.
