What Weaviate (BYOK) is for
Weaviate (BYOK) lets an AI assistant read your own Weaviate data through the Weaviate API with a key you supply (Weaviate Cloud API key (a read-only key is enough)). Read-only: 10 tools (get_meta, get_schema, get_collection, list_nodes, get_cluster_statistics, list_shards, list_tenants, list_aliases, list_objects, get_object). The BYOK key travels with each request, is used for that one call only and is never stored, logged or cached; it is only ever sent to *.weaviate.cloud. Unofficial connector by Unify Dynamics LLC: not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Weaviate. Weaviate and its logos are trademarks of their owners and are used only to say which service the connector works with.
Ask your assistant things like:
- "Which Weaviate version does my cluster run?"
- "What collections exist in my Weaviate cluster?"
- "Show the definition of the Weaviate collection Article"
- "Are all Weaviate nodes healthy and how many objects do they hold?"
- "Is my Weaviate cluster synchronized?"
- "What is the shard status of the Weaviate collection Article?"
What it does
get_meta: Show the Weaviate server version, host name, loaded modules and license information.get_schema: List all collections (classes) with description, vectorizer, vector index type and property definitions.get_collection: Get one collection definition: vectorizer, index type, multi-tenancy and replication settings, and properties.list_nodes: List cluster nodes with status, version, shard count and object count (verbose adds per-shard details).get_cluster_statistics: Show Raft cluster statistics: per-node status, readiness, leader and applied index, and whether nodes are synchronized.list_shards: List the shards of a collection with status and vector queue size.list_tenants: List the tenants of a multi-tenant collection with their activity status (active, inactive and so on).list_aliases: List collection aliases with the collection each points to, optionally for one collection.list_objects: List stored objects of a collection with id, timestamps and properties (data stored by the key owner), paged by limit and offset; vectors are not requested.get_object: Get one stored object by collection and id with timestamps and properties; the vector is not requested.
BYOK key
You bring your own Weaviate Weaviate Cloud API key (a read-only key is enough) (https://docs.weaviate.io/cloud/manage-clusters/connect). Your assistant sends it in the X-Upstream-Key header with each request. ConnectorBay uses it for that one call only: it is never stored, logged or cached, never shown in an answer, and it is only sent to *.weaviate.cloud over https, with no redirects followed. Create a key with the fewest permissions the tools need (read-only if the provider offers it), and revoke it at the provider whenever you like.

Live from the Weaviate API (*.weaviate.cloud) with a BYOK key; documentation: https://docs.weaviate.io/weaviate/api/rest. Endpoints checked against that documentation on 2026-10-16.
What it is not
Unofficial connector by Unify Dynamics LLC: not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Weaviate. Weaviate and its logos are trademarks of their owners and are used only to say which service the connector works with. It is read-only: it never creates, changes, sends or deletes anything in your Weaviate account.
