What Wistia (BYOK) is for

Wistia (BYOK) lets an AI assistant read your own Wistia data through the Wistia API with a key you supply (API access token (needs the 'Read all folder and media data' permission)). Read-only: 11 tools (list_medias, get_media, get_media_stats, list_folders, list_tags, list_channels, list_webinars, get_account_stats, get_account_stats_by_date, get_account_analytics, get_top_content). The BYOK key travels with each request, is used for that one call only and is never stored, logged or cached; it is only ever sent to api.wistia.com. Unofficial connector by Unify Dynamics LLC: not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Wistia. Wistia and its logos are trademarks of their owners and are used only to say which service the connector works with.

Ask your assistant things like:

  • "What videos are in my Wistia account?"
  • "Show details of Wistia video abc123def4"
  • "How many plays and what engagement does Wistia video abc123def4 have?"
  • "Which folders do I have in Wistia and how many videos are in each?"
  • "What tags do I use on my Wistia videos?"
  • "Which Wistia channels do I have?"

What it does

  • list_medias: List the media (videos, audio, images) in the Wistia account with name, type, status, duration, folder and dates. Up to 100 per page.
  • get_media: Get one Wistia media by hashed id: name, type, status, duration, folder, thumbnail, tags and its file assets.
  • get_media_stats: Get lifetime viewing statistics for one Wistia media: loads, plays, play rate, hours watched, engagement and visitors.
  • list_folders: List Wistia folders (earlier called projects) with media count, dates and sharing flags. Up to 100 per page.
  • list_tags: List the tags used in the Wistia account with how many media each is attached to. Up to 100 per page.
  • list_channels: List Wistia channels with name, media count, live event count and podcast flag. Up to 100 per page.
  • list_webinars: List Wistia webinars with title, schedule, lifecycle and registration status. Links for hosts and panelists are not returned.
  • get_account_stats: Get the Wistia account's lifetime totals: loads, plays and hours watched.
  • get_account_stats_by_date: Get daily Wistia account statistics (loads, plays, hours watched), optionally between two dates.
  • get_account_analytics: Get Wistia account analytics for a date range: unique loads and plays, plays, play rate, played time, visitors, engagement rate and form conversions.
  • get_top_content: Rank Wistia content (media, channels or folders) by a metric over a date range, with plays, play rate and engagement.

BYOK key

You bring your own Wistia API access token (needs the 'Read all folder and media data' permission) (https://account.wistia.com/account/api). Your assistant sends it in the X-Upstream-Key header with each request. ConnectorBay uses it for that one call only: it is never stored, logged or cached, never shown in an answer, and it is only sent to api.wistia.com over https, with no redirects followed. Create a key with the fewest permissions the tools need (read-only if the provider offers it), and revoke it at the provider whenever you like.

Data sources

Live from the Wistia API (api.wistia.com) with a BYOK key; documentation: https://docs.wistia.com/reference. Endpoints checked against that documentation on 2026-10-16.

What it is not

Unofficial connector by Unify Dynamics LLC: not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Wistia. Wistia and its logos are trademarks of their owners and are used only to say which service the connector works with. It is read-only: it never creates, changes, sends or deletes anything in your Wistia account.
