What Wowza Video (BYOK) is for

Wowza Video (BYOK) lets an AI assistant read your own Wowza Video data through the Wowza Video API with a key you supply (Access token (JWT)). Read-only: 12 tools (list_live_streams, get_live_stream, get_live_stream_state, list_transcoders, get_transcoder_state, list_recordings, list_stream_targets, list_players, list_schedules, get_peak_recording_storage, get_transcoder_network_usage, get_transcoder_time_usage). The BYOK key travels with each request, is used for that one call only and is never stored, logged or cached; it is only ever sent to api.video.wowza.com. What it does

  • list_live_streams: List your live streams with name, type, location, delivery method, encoder, latency mode, hosted page and playback URL.
  • get_live_stream: Get one live stream by id: configuration, locations, delivery and playback details.
  • get_live_stream_state: Get the current state of a live stream (started, stopped, starting, stopping or resetting).
  • list_transcoders: List your transcoders with name, type, location, protocol, latency mode, recording flag and timeouts.
  • get_transcoder_state: Get the current state of a transcoder and its current uptime id.
  • list_recordings: List your recordings with file name, size, duration, state, transcoder and start time.
  • list_stream_targets: List your stream targets (outputs such as CDN or social destinations) with name, provider, type, location and playback URLs.
  • list_players: List your players with type, size, hosted page URL and playback URLs.
  • list_schedules: List transcoder schedules (timed start and stop actions) with recurrence, state and target transcoder.
  • get_peak_recording_storage: Get the peak recording storage in bytes used in a time range (default: since the last billing date).
  • get_transcoder_network_usage: Get network bytes used and billed per transcoder in a time range.
  • get_transcoder_time_usage: Get stream processing seconds used and billed per transcoder in a time range.

BYOK key

You bring your own Wowza Video Access token (JWT) (https://developer.wowza.com/docs/wowza-video/about-the-rest-api/authentication). Your assistant sends it in the X-Upstream-Key header with each request. ConnectorBay uses it for that one call only: it is never stored, logged or cached, never shown in an answer, and it is only sent to api.video.wowza.com over https, with no redirects followed. Create a key with the fewest permissions the tools need (read-only if the provider offers it), and revoke it at the provider whenever you like.

Notices

Read-only: no starting, stopping, resetting or deleting of streams and transcoders. Ingest passwords and connection codes are never returned.
