What Youtrack Config (BYOK) is for
Youtrack Config (BYOK) lets an AI assistant read your own Youtrack Config data through the Youtrack Config API with a key you supply (YouTrack permanent token). Read-only: 7 tools (list_custom_field_definitions, list_state_bundles, list_enum_bundles, list_version_bundles, list_user_groups, list_time_tracking_work_item_types, get_project_time_tracking_settings). The BYOK key travels with each request, is used for that one call only and is never stored, logged or cached; it is only ever sent to *.youtrack.cloud. Unofficial connector by Unify Dynamics LLC: not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Youtrack Config. Youtrack Config and its logos are trademarks of their owners and are used only to say which service the connector works with.
Ask your assistant things like:
- "Which custom fields are defined in YouTrack?"
- "Which state sets does YouTrack define and which states count as resolved?"
- "Which value sets (priorities, types) does YouTrack define?"
- "Which version sets does YouTrack define?"
- "How many people are in each YouTrack group?"
- "Which time tracking categories does YouTrack offer?"
What it does
list_custom_field_definitions: List the instance-wide custom field definitions with name, localized name, field type, aliases, whether they attach to new projects automatically and display order. Needs permission to read custom field settings.list_state_bundles: List the state bundles (sets of workflow states) with each state's name, resolved flag and order.list_enum_bundles: List the enumeration bundles (sets of allowed values such as priorities or types) with value names, descriptions and order.list_version_bundles: List the version bundles (sets of product versions) with version ids and names.list_user_groups: List YouTrack user groups with name, number of members and whether the group contains all users. Member lists are not returned.list_time_tracking_work_item_types: List the work item types (categories such as Development or Testing) available for time tracking, with the auto-attach flag.get_project_time_tracking_settings: Get a project's time tracking settings: whether it is on, which fields hold estimate and time spent, and the work item types it uses.
BYOK key
You bring your own Youtrack Config YouTrack permanent token (https://www.jetbrains.com/help/youtrack/devportal/Manage-Permanent-Token.html). Your assistant sends it in the X-Upstream-Key header with each request. ConnectorBay uses it for that one call only: it is never stored, logged or cached, never shown in an answer, and it is only sent to *.youtrack.cloud over https, with no redirects followed. Create a key with the fewest permissions the tools need (read-only if the provider offers it), and revoke it at the provider whenever you like.

Live from the Youtrack Config API (*.youtrack.cloud) with a BYOK key; documentation: https://www.jetbrains.com/help/youtrack/devportal/resource-api-admin-customFieldSettings-customFields.html. Endpoints checked against that documentation on 2026-10-16.
