What Youtrack Projects and Boards (BYOK) is for

Youtrack Projects and Boards (BYOK) lets an AI assistant read your own Youtrack Projects and Boards data through the Youtrack Projects and Boards API with a key you supply (YouTrack permanent token). Read-only: 7 tools (list_projects, list_project_custom_fields, list_agile_boards, list_sprints, list_saved_queries, list_tags, list_issue_link_types). The BYOK key travels with each request, is used for that one call only and is never stored, logged or cached; it is only ever sent to *.youtrack.cloud.   • "Which tags exist in YouTrack?"

What it does

  • list_projects: List projects with id, name, short name, description, archived flag and leader. Needs permission to read project settings.
  • list_project_custom_fields: List the custom fields attached to a project: field name, type, whether it may be empty, whether it is public and its order.
  • list_agile_boards: List agile boards with id, name and owner.
  • list_sprints: List the sprints of an agile board: name, goal, start and finish, archived and default flags and unresolved issue count.
  • list_saved_queries: List saved searches visible to the key's user: name, query text and owner.
  • list_tags: List tags visible to the key's user with id, name, owner and whether the tag is removed when an issue resolves; filter by name.
  • list_issue_link_types: List the issue link types (Relates, Depend, Duplicate, Subtask ...) with their wording in both directions and whether they are directed.

BYOK key

You bring your own Youtrack Projects and Boards YouTrack permanent token (https://www.jetbrains.com/help/youtrack/devportal/Manage-Permanent-Token.html). Your assistant sends it in the X-Upstream-Key header with each request. ConnectorBay uses it for that one call only: it is never stored, logged or cached, never shown in an answer, and it is only sent to *.youtrack.cloud over https, with no redirects followed. Create a key with the fewest permissions the tools need (read-only if the provider offers it), and revoke it at the provider whenever you like.
