Real questions, and the tools your agent calls to answer them.
fx_rateconvert_amountpolicy_rateprime_raterate_snapshotfx_move_alertfx_historylist_fx_pairsBank of Canada Rates reads the Bank of Canada's public Valet API (JSON, no key; the Bank describes each series as a daily average exchange rate) so an agent can convert foreign-currency invoices and price quotes with the rate date always shown. fx_rate returns one currency's daily exchange rate against the Canadian dollar (Canadian dollars per one unit of the currency) for the latest day or a chosen date, and says plainly when the series has no observation for that date instead of guessing; convert_amount converts between CAD and a listed currency, or between two listed currencies through CAD; fx_history lists a currency's observations over a date range with the first, last, high, low and change; list_fx_pairs lists the daily exchange-rate series the Bank publishes; policy_rate returns the target for the overnight rate (series V39079) and prime_rate the prime rate (series V80691311), each with its observation date; rate_snapshot gathers USD, EUR and GBP rates with the policy and prime rates in one answer; fx_move_alert reports whether a currency moved by more than a threshold since a date. Every answer carries the observation date, the series id, the source URL of the call and how well each fact is verified. The Bank states its exchange rates are for statistical and analytical purposes and are not intended as the benchmark rate for executing foreign exchange trades; whether the Canada Revenue Agency or another authority accepts them for a given purpose is not stated by this tool.

What Bank of Canada Rates is. Bank of Canada Rates is a connector (an MCP server and REST API) that AI assistants call on your behalf: Bank of Canada daily exchange rates against the Canadian dollar, the policy rate and the prime rate, live from the keyless Valet API. You talk to your assistant; the assistant sends us only the arguments needed for that one request.
What we receive. The arguments of each tool call, the technical headers needed to serve the request (an IP address or a client identifier supplied by the assistant, and a Pro API key if you have one), and standard server logs.
Nothing is stored. Some tools ask the public sources listed in the documentation for data. Only the arguments needed for that one lookup are sent, never anything that identifies you. Arguments are used for that one response and are not logged in request bodies, recorded, or used to train anything.
What we do not receive or store. We do not receive your conversation with the assistant, your name, contacts or account credentials, and we build no profile: each request is answered independently. Rate-limit counters (a client identifier and timestamps) are held in memory for at most 24 hours. Hosting access logs (IP addresses and request paths, not request bodies) are kept for up to 30 days for security and abuse prevention.
Sub-processors. Public data sources named in the documentation (no personal data is sent to them). Hosting: Vercel (United States regions).
Your rights. Because we store no personal data beyond short-lived logs, requests to access, correct or delete data are usually satisfied automatically; you can still contact agent@connectorbay.com and we will respond within 30 days. We do not sell or share personal information.
Children. Bank of Canada Rates is a general-audience service operated by the adult using the assistant.
Changes. We will post changes here with a new effective date.
