Labor/materials/overhead/profit breakdowns with real markup-vs-margin math, plus quote red flags
Unify Dynamics LLC
Real questions, and the tools your agent calls to answer them.
estimate_breakdown_calculatormarkup_margin_converterchange_order_process_explainerpayment_schedule_templatered_flags_checklistestimate_glossaryContractorquote puts contractor-estimate structure behind one connector, computed locally from the numbers you supply. estimate_breakdown_calculator builds a labor/materials/overhead/profit breakdown and computes the total price by markup (profit as % of cost) or margin (profit as % of selling price), reporting the equivalent value in the other convention since the two are commonly confused (a 25% markup is only a 20% margin). markup_margin_converter is the standalone conversion using margin=markup/(1+markup) and markup=margin/(1-markup). change_order_process_explainer covers identifying the trigger, documenting it in writing, pricing the impact, and getting written approval before proceeding. payment_schedule_template gives a deposit/progress/final billing pattern by project size, with dollar amounts for a given total. red_flags_checklist is a consumer-facing list of bad-quote warning signs: low bids, large cash deposits, no license/insurance, high-pressure tactics, missing permits, vague payment terms. estimate_glossary defines change order, punch list, retainage, scope of work, markup, margin, lien waiver, and more. General trades reference information and arithmetic, not legal advice.
Sources: Computed locally / hand-curated general trades estimating guidance and standard markup/margin arithmetic; fully local, zero upstream calls

"Break down this estimate: $3,000 labor, $2,000 materials, 10% overhead, targeting a 20% margin", "what's a 25% markup in margin terms?", "how does a contractor change order actually work?", "what's a normal payment schedule for a $20,000 remodel?", "how do I spot a bad contractor quote?" — answered with real arithmetic and a hand-curated reference, on both sides of a contractor estimate — no upstream calls, nothing stored.
estimate_breakdown_calculator builds a full labor/materials/overhead/profit breakdown and computes the
total price by markup (profit as a percent of cost) or margin (profit as a percent of the selling price) —
the single most common point of confusion in contractor estimating, since a 25% markup and a 25% margin are
different numbers (a 25% markup is only a 20% margin), and the tool always reports the equivalent value in
the other convention so you can catch the mistake before it costs you money. markup_margin_converter is
the standalone conversion, using the identities margin = markup/(1+markup) and markup = margin/(1-markup).
change_order_process_explainer covers the general steps for handling a change order: identifying the
trigger, documenting it in writing, pricing the cost/schedule impact, and — critically — getting written
approval BEFORE the additional work begins. payment_schedule_template gives a deposit/progress/final
billing pattern by project size (a simple 50/50 split for a small job, up to a five-milestone structure for
a large remodel), with dollar amounts if you supply a total price. red_flags_checklist is a consumer-
facing list of warning signs in a contractor quote: unusually low bids, large cash-only deposits, no
license/insurance, high-pressure tactics, missing permits, and vague payment terms.
estimate_glossary defines change order, punch list, retainage, scope of work, markup, margin, lien
waiver, mechanic's lien, substantial completion, and allowance.
General trades reference information and arithmetic, not legal advice. Deposit-amount limits, licensing requirements, permit rules, and lien/contract law all vary by trade and by state or local jurisdiction — Contractorquote does not know which rules apply to a specific real job. Confirm the actual contract terms and, where a real dispute or large dollar amount is involved, consult a professional or your local licensing board.

What Contractorquote is. Contractorquote is a connector (an MCP server and REST API) that AI assistants and personal agents call on your behalf to compute contractor-estimate figures and provide general reference information: estimate breakdowns, markup/margin conversions, payment schedules, and quote red flags. You interact with your assistant; the assistant sends us only the numbers needed for that one calculation.
What we receive. The arguments of each tool call — typically labor/materials costs, a markup or margin percentage, or a total contract price — the technical headers needed to serve the request (an IP address or a client identifier supplied by the assistant, and a Pro API key if you have one), and standard server logs.
Nothing you submit is stored or logged. Every calculation is computed fresh from the numbers you provide in that single request — Contractorquote does not maintain a project history, a client list, or a running estimate for you. No query — including any cost, price, or project detail you enter — is logged in request bodies, recorded, or used to train anything.
What we do not receive or store. We do not receive your conversation with the assistant, contractor or client names, addresses, or any account or financial-account information, and we do not build a profile from your queries: each request is answered independently. Rate-limit counters (a client identifier and timestamps, never the request content) are held in memory for at most 24 hours. Hosting-provider access logs, which contain IP addresses and request paths but not request bodies, are retained for up to 30 days for security and abuse prevention.
Sub-processors. None — every tool is computed locally. Hosting: Vercel (United States regions).
Legal bases and your rights. Our processing is necessary to provide the service you request through your assistant. Because we store no personal data beyond short-lived, content-free logs, requests to access, correct or delete personal data are usually satisfied automatically; you can still contact agent@connectorbay.com and we will respond within 30 days. We do not sell or share personal information and do not use your data to train models.
Children. Contractorquote is a general-audience service operated by the adult using the assistant.
Changes. We will post changes here with a new effective date.
