Digital-asset and password-inheritance planning: a checklist, access framework, and glossary

Real questions, and the tools your agent calls to answer them.
estate_planning_checklistaccount_access_after_death_referenceaccess_frameworkdigital_estate_glossarydigital_estate_glossaryDigitalEstate is a fully local digital-asset/password-inheritance planning guide. estate_planning_checklist is a real, actionable checklist: documenting an account inventory, using a password manager's emergency-access features, naming a digital executor, writing an emergency letter of instructions, and reviewing it periodically. account_access_after_death_reference gives generic after-death account-access patterns by platform category — email, social media, financial institutions, cloud storage, cryptocurrency, and subscriptions — described generically as common industry patterns, never as any one platform's actual current policy, since those vary and change over time. access_framework explains 'who should have access to what, and when': immediate emergency access (a trusted person acting while you're alive but incapacitated) versus after-death access (a digital executor winding down the estate) are different needs with different appropriate scopes. digital_estate_glossary defines core terms: digital executor, legacy contact, dead man's switch, emergency access, RUFADAA, digital asset, and memorialization. Every response carries a disclaimer noting this is general educational information, not legal advice. Keyless; fully local; zero upstream calls; nothing stored; no real credentials are ever accepted.
Sources: Computed locally / hand-curated general digital-estate-planning knowledge, described generically since exact platform policies vary and change; fully local, zero upstream calls.

It
is general educational information only, never legal advice, and it never asserts any specific platform's
current after-death account policy as established fact — exact policies vary by platform and change over time,
so always check the specific platform's current terms. Every tool response carries a disclaimer field
restating this.
The questions that come up when you're thinking about what happens to your digital life — email, social media, photos, cryptocurrency, subscriptions — if something happens to you: what should you actually document, who should have access and when, what commonly happens to different kinds of accounts after death, and what do terms like "digital executor" or "RUFADAA" even mean — answered with a real planning checklist and generic, honest patterns rather than confident claims about any one platform, with no upstream calls and nothing about the user stored.
A real, actionable digital-estate-planning checklist covering account inventory, password-manager emergency
access, naming a digital executor, and more (estate_planning_checklist); generic after-death account-access
patterns by platform category — email, social media, financial institutions, cloud storage, cryptocurrency, and
subscriptions — described as common industry patterns, never as any one platform's actual current policy
(account_access_after_death_reference); a "who should have access to what, and when" framework distinguishing
immediate emergency access from after-death access (access_framework); and a glossary of core terms
(digital_estate_glossary).
Not a law firm, not an estate-planning attorney, and not a lookup of any specific platform's actual current policy — platform features and legal rules both change over time and vary by jurisdiction, so this tool deliberately describes general, common patterns rather than asserting a fact about any named company. It is not a substitute for actually setting up your accounts' real emergency-access or legacy-contact features, writing an actual will, or consulting a licensed estate-planning attorney for your specific situation.
estate_planning_checklist — A real, actionable digital-estate-planning checklist: account inventory, password-manager emergency access, naming a digital executor, and more.
access_framework — The "who should have access to what, and when" framework: immediate emergency access versus after-death access. Args: need_type (optional).
account_access_after_death_reference — Generic after-death account-access patterns by platform category, described generically rather than as any one platform's actual policy. Args: platform_category (optional).
digital_estate_glossary — Plain-language definitions of core digital-estate-planning terms. Args: term (optional).

What DigitalEstate is. DigitalEstate is a connector (an MCP server and REST API) that AI assistants and personal agents call on your behalf for a digital-asset/password-inheritance planning guide: a planning checklist, generic after-death account-access patterns, an access-scope framework, and a glossary. DigitalEstate provides general educational information only, not legal advice. You interact with your assistant; the assistant sends us only the arguments needed for that one lookup.
What we receive. The arguments of each tool call — for example a platform category name or a glossary term — the technical headers needed to serve the request (an IP address or a client identifier supplied by the assistant, and a Pro API key if you have one), and standard server logs.
Everything is answered locally and nothing is stored. DigitalEstate makes zero upstream/network calls: every response is bundled reference data. No request is forwarded to any third party, and no query is logged in request bodies, recorded, or used to train anything.
What we do not receive or store. We do not receive your conversation with the assistant or your name, and we do not build a profile from your queries: each request is answered independently and nothing carries over between requests. We never receive any actual account credentials, account inventories, or estate-planning documents — DigitalEstate only answers general reference questions and never asks for or accepts real passwords or account details. Rate-limit counters (a client identifier and timestamps) are held in memory for at most 24 hours. Hosting-provider access logs, which contain IP addresses and request paths but not request bodies, are retained for up to 30 days for security and abuse prevention.
Sub-processors. None — the entire dataset is bundled with the server. Hosting: Vercel (United States regions).
Legal bases and your rights. Our processing is necessary to provide the service you request through your assistant. Because we store no personal data beyond short-lived logs, requests to access, correct or delete personal data are usually satisfied automatically; you can still contact agent@connectorbay.com and we will respond within 30 days. We do not sell or share personal information and do not use your data to train models.
Children. DigitalEstate is a general-audience service operated by the adult using the assistant.
Changes. We will post changes here with a new effective date.
