rule_lookup — Explains one checkers/draughts rule or mechanic in full: forced capture, the maximum-capture rule, multi-jump chains, kinging/crowning, short vs flying kings, backward capture by men, huffing, draw conditions, opening restriction, and more, including how it varies (or doesn't) between variants. Use for "what is forced capture", "how does kinging work", "what's a flying king". Args: topic.
variant_info — Full detail on one named regional checkers/draughts variant: board size, pieces per side, whether men can capture backward, king movement style (short or flying), whether a maximum-capture rule applies, notation system, region/governing body, and what makes it distinctive. Use for "what is International Draughts", "how does Turkish Draughts work", "tell me about Russian Draughts". Args: name.
variant_comparison — Lines up two named checkers/draughts variants side by side — board size, pieces per side, backward capture for men, king movement, mandatory/maximum capture rules, notation, and region — and highlights exactly which fields differ between them. Use for "compare American checkers and International Draughts", "how is Russian Draughts different from Turkish Draughts". Args: a, b.
board_notation — Explains one board/move notation system used to record checkers/draughts games: how squares are labeled, how quiet moves and captures are written, an example move, and which variants use it. Use for "how does draughts notation work", "what does 32-28 mean in checkers", "how are Turkish dama moves written". Args: system.
notation_reference — Lists every board/move notation system covered — international numeric, English/American numeric, chess-style algebraic, and Turkish full-board — each with a short description and which variants use it. Use for "what notation systems does checkers use", "list draughts notation styles".
strategy_concept — Explains a named checkers/draughts strategic idea — control of the center, the double corner, tempo, the bridge, sacrifice for breakthrough, trading down when ahead, king mobility vs man count, edge play, or phalanx formations — including which variants it's most relevant to. Use for "what's the bridge in checkers", "why trade pieces when I'm ahead", "what's a shot combination". Args: name.
beginner_tips — A curated, ordered shortlist of tips for a new checkers/draughts player, from most to least essential. Use for "what should a checkers beginner focus on", "give me some draughts tips". Args: count.
term_glossary — Defines a checkers/draughts term — man, king, crowning, flying king, shot, bridge, double corner, tempo, phalanx, PDN, and more — or lists every term in the glossary when none is given. Use for "what's a shot in checkers", "what does 'double corner' mean", "list checkers terms". Args: term.

What Draught is. Draught is a connector (an MCP server and REST API) that AI assistants and personal agents call on your behalf for a hand-curated checkers/draughts rules & variant reference — mechanics, variants, notation and strategy. You interact with your assistant; the assistant sends us only the arguments needed for that one lookup.
What we receive. The arguments of each tool call, the technical headers needed to serve the request (an IP address or a client identifier supplied by the assistant, and a Pro API key if you have one), and standard server logs.
Everything is answered from a bundled, hand-curated reference file and nothing is stored. No request is forwarded to any third party — there is no upstream call at all, live or otherwise — and no query is logged in request bodies, recorded, or used to train anything.
What we do not receive or store. We do not receive your conversation with the assistant or your name, and we do not build a profile from your queries: each request is answered independently and nothing carries over between requests. Rate-limit counters (a client identifier and timestamps) are held in memory for at most 24 hours. Hosting-provider access logs, which contain IP addresses and request paths but not request bodies, are retained for up to 30 days for security and abuse prevention.
Sub-processors. None — the entire dataset is bundled with the server and answered locally. Hosting: Vercel (United States regions).
Legal bases and your rights. Our processing is necessary to provide the service you request through your assistant. Because we store no personal data beyond short-lived logs, requests to access, correct or delete personal data are usually satisfied automatically; you can still contact agent@connectorbay.com and we will respond within 30 days. We do not sell or share personal information and do not use your data to train models.
Children. Draught is a general-audience service operated by the adult using the assistant.
Changes. We will post changes here with a new effective date.
