About

Festejo ("celebration") is a fully local Brazilian holidays and festivals guide. holiday_info gives one holiday's description, traditions, foods and whether its date is fixed or Easter-relative — covering the eight fixed national holidays, the Easter-relative movable holidays (Carnaval, Sexta-feira Santa, Páscoa, Corpus Christi) and major popular festas (Festa Junina, Réveillon). holiday_search does a keyword search across name, description, traditions and foods. holidays_by_month lists which fixed holidays fall in a month, pointing to calendar_year for movable ones. national_vs_regional distinguishes nationally-observed holidays from widely-known regional festas like Bumba Meu Boi and Círio de Nazaré. festa_junina_guide is a deep dive on Brazil's June festival complex: foods, the quadrilha dance, bonfires and caipira dress. carnaval_guide covers blocos, escolas de samba and the Sambódromo parade, plus Bahia's trio elétrico and Recife/Olinda's frevo and maracatu. traditional_food_guide lists typical foods per holiday. calendar_year is the real computed feature: it derives Easter Sunday, Carnaval Tuesday, Good Friday and Corpus Christi fresh from a verified Easter-date algorithm (Anonymous Gregorian / Meeus-Jones-Butcher) for any year, alongside every fixed holiday. glossary defines feriado, ponto facultativo, bloco, quadrilha, réveillon and more — including the real distinction between an official feriado and a merely-common ponto facultativo. Keyless; fully local, zero upstream calls.

Sources: Hand-curated Brazilian holidays and festivals reference, written and verified as of build date from public knowledge; movable-holiday dates computed at request time from a verified Easter-date algorithm; fully local, zero upstream calls

What Festejo (Celebration) is for

"Festejo" is Portuguese for celebration/festivity. The question that comes up whenever a Brazilian holiday is mentioned — what is Carnaval actually, when does Easter fall this year (and so when is Carnaval and Corpus Christi), what do people eat at Festa Junina, is that a real day off or just a common one, what makes Bahian Carnaval different from Rio's — answered from one hand-curated national reference, with the one part that genuinely changes every year (movable Catholic holidays) computed live instead of guessed or hardcoded.

What it does

One holiday's description, typical traditions, typical foods, and whether its date is fixed or Easter-relative (holiday_info); a keyword search across holiday name, description, traditions and foods (holiday_search); which FIXED-date holidays fall in a given month, pointing to calendar_year for movable ones (holidays_by_month); the distinction between nationally-observed holidays and widely-known but regional/local festas like Bumba Meu Boi (North/Northeast) or Círio de Nazaré (Belém) (national_vs_regional); a deep guide to Festa Junina — foods, the quadrilha dance, bonfires, caipira dress, and its saints'-day timing (festa_junina_guide); a guide to Carnaval — blocos, escolas de samba and the Sambódromo parade competition, and how Bahia's trio elétrico street Carnaval and Recife/Olinda's frevo and maracatu differ from Rio's (carnaval_guide); the typical foods for a given holiday (traditional_food_guide); a full computed holiday calendar for any year — Easter Sunday, Carnaval Tuesday, Good Friday and Corpus Christi all derived fresh from a verified Easter-date algorithm, never a hardcoded per-year table, alongside every fixed-date holiday (calendar_year); and a glossary of holiday terms, including the practically important difference between an official feriado and a merely-common, non-mandatory ponto facultativo (glossary).

The real computation

Movable Brazilian holidays are all pinned to the date of Easter Sunday, which itself moves every year. This connector implements the actual Easter-date algorithm — the Anonymous Gregorian algorithm, also called the Meeus/Jones/Butcher algorithm — rather than storing a lookup table of future years, then derives Carnaval Tuesday (47 days before Easter Sunday, the day before Ash Wednesday), Good Friday (2 days before Easter Sunday) and Corpus Christi (60 days after Easter Sunday) from it. The algorithm is verified against known historical Easter dates (2024-03-31, 2025-04-20, and others) in the test suite.

What it is not

Not a live scheduling or PTO-tracking tool, and not a substitute for a specific employer's or municipality's own holiday calendar — states and cities can add their own local feriados on top of the national ones listed here, and whether a ponto facultativo is actually granted varies by employer. It is also not an exhaustive inventory of every Brazilian festa: the regional festas covered are a hand-picked, well-known sample (Bumba Meu Boi, Círio de Nazaré, Festa do Peão de Barretos, Parintins, Carnatal, Festa de Iemanjá), not a full municipal-by-municipal listing.

Tools

Lookup & Search

holiday_info — One Brazilian holiday's description, typical traditions, typical foods, and whether its date is fixed or Easter-relative. Covers the fixed national holidays, the Easter-relative movable holidays, and major popular festas (Festa Junina, Réveillon). Use for "what is Tiradentes Day", "tell me about Carnaval". Args: name.

holiday_search — Search Brazilian holidays and festas by keyword across name, description, traditions and foods. Use for "which holidays involve fireworks", "what holidays have a food tradition with corn". Args: query.

holidays_by_month — Which FIXED-date Brazilian holidays fall in a given month. Movable Easter-relative holidays (Carnaval, Good Friday, Páscoa, Corpus Christi) are not included here since their month varies by year — use calendar_year for those. Use for "what holidays are in September", "is there a holiday in November". Args: month.

Coverage

national_vs_regional — Distinguishes nationally-observed Brazilian holidays from widely-known but regional/local festas. type="national" returns the official feriados nacionais (fixed + Easter-relative). type="regional" returns well-known local festas that are not nationally observed (Bumba Meu Boi in the North/Northeast, Círio de Nazaré in Belém, Carnatal in Natal, and others), each with its home region. Use for "is Bumba Meu Boi a national holiday", "what regional festivals does Brazil have". Args: type.

Deep Guides

festa_junina_guide — A detailed guide to Festa Junina, Brazil's month-long June harvest-and-saints festival: typical foods (canjica, pamonha, quentão, paçoca, pé-de-moleque), the quadrilha square dance, bonfires, caipira dress, and its timing around the saints' days of Santo Antônio, São João and São Pedro. Use for "what is Festa Junina", "what do people eat at Festa Junina", "what's a quadrilha".

carnaval_guide — A guide to Brazilian Carnaval: blocos de rua, escolas de samba and the Sambódromo parade competition, and how it varies by region — Rio de Janeiro's samba-school parade, Bahia's trio elétrico street Carnaval, and Recife/Olinda's frevo and maracatu Carnaval in Pernambuco. Use for "how is Carnaval celebrated in Bahia", "what's the difference between Rio and Recife Carnaval", "what's a bloco".

Food

traditional_food_guide — The typical foods eaten for a given Brazilian holiday. Use for "what do Brazilians eat at Christmas", "what food is served at Réveillon". Args: holiday.

Computed Calendar

calendar_year — Brazil's full holiday calendar for a given year: every fixed-date holiday, plus Easter Sunday, Carnaval Tuesday, Good Friday and Corpus Christi computed fresh from a verified Easter-date algorithm (the Anonymous Gregorian / Meeus-Jones-Butcher algorithm) — never a hardcoded per-year table. Use for "when is Carnaval in 2027", "what date is Easter in 2030", "give me the full 2026 holiday calendar". Args: year.

Reference

glossary — Definitions of Brazilian holiday and festival terms (feriado, ponto facultativo, feriadão, bloco, quadrilha, escola de samba, réveillon, arraiá, trio elétrico, frevo) — including the practically useful distinction between an official feriado and a merely-common, non-mandatory ponto facultativo. Use for "what's a ponto facultativo", "what does bloco mean". Args: term.

Conventions

  • Read-only. Every tool reads public data or computes; nothing is written anywhere and nothing about the user is stored.
  • Result envelope. ok: true with data, or ok: false with a structured error (bad_input, not_found, upstream_error). degraded lists optional sources that were unreachable.
  • Rate limits. Free tier 60 tool calls/minute and 300/day per user (keyed on the user identifier supplied by the host agent, else client IP); Pro keys raise this. Over-limit calls return HTTP 429 with Retry-After. initialize and tools/list are never counted.

Festejo (Celebration) — Privacy Policy

Effective 24 September 2026. Unify Dynamics LLC ("we", "us"), Menlo Park, California.

What Festejo (Celebration) is. Festejo (Celebration) is a connector (an MCP server and REST API) that AI assistants and personal agents call on your behalf for a hand-curated Brazilian holidays and festivals guide: holiday lookups and search, holidays by month, national-versus-regional festa coverage, Festa Junina and Carnaval guides, food-by-holiday lookups, a computed holiday calendar for any year, and a glossary. You interact with your assistant; the assistant sends us only the arguments needed for that one lookup.

What we receive. The arguments of each tool call — a holiday name, a search keyword, a month, a type ("national" or "regional"), a year, or a glossary term — the technical headers needed to serve the request (an IP address or a client identifier supplied by the assistant, and a Pro API key if you have one), and standard server logs.

Everything is answered from a bundled, hand-curated reference file plus arithmetic, and nothing is stored. No request is forwarded to any third party — there is no upstream call at all, live or otherwise — and no query is logged in request bodies, recorded, or used to train anything. Movable-holiday dates are computed on the fly from the year you supply using a public date algorithm; nothing about that computation is retained after the response is returned.

What we do not receive or store. We do not receive your conversation with the assistant or your name, and we do not build a profile from your queries: each request is answered independently and nothing carries over between requests. Rate-limit counters (a client identifier and timestamps) are held in memory for at most 24 hours. Hosting-provider access logs, which contain IP addresses and request paths but not request bodies, are retained for up to 30 days for security and abuse prevention.

Sub-processors. None — the entire dataset is bundled with the server and answered locally, and calendar math runs in-process. Hosting: Vercel (United States regions).

Legal bases and your rights. Our processing is necessary to provide the service you request through your assistant. Because we store no personal data beyond short-lived logs, requests to access, correct or delete personal data are usually satisfied automatically; you can still contact agent@connectorbay.com and we will respond within 30 days. We do not sell or share personal information and do not use your data to train models.

Children. Festejo (Celebration) is a general-audience service operated by the adult using the assistant. It describes Brazilian holidays and festivals factually and does not collect data from or target children.

Changes. We will post changes here with a new effective date.

Terms of service

Festejo (Celebration) — Terms of Service

Effective 24 September 2026. These terms govern use of the Festejo (Celebration) connector ("the Service") operated by Unify Dynamics LLC ("we", "us").

  1. The Service. Festejo (Celebration) returns a hand-curated Brazilian holidays and festivals guide — holiday descriptions, traditions and foods; holidays by month; national-versus-regional festa coverage; Festa Junina and Carnaval guides; food-by-holiday lookups; a computed per-year holiday calendar; and a glossary — from data hand-curated and verified at build time, plus movable-holiday dates computed at request time from a public date algorithm. It is accessed through an AI assistant or directly over MCP or HTTP.
  2. Not an official calendar, and not exhaustive. Festejo (Celebration) is an independent reference tool, not affiliated with or endorsed by the Brazilian government or any state or municipal authority. States and municipalities may set additional local holidays not covered here, and whether a "ponto facultativo" day is actually granted is at each employer's discretion — this Service describes common national practice, not a specific employer's calendar. The regional festas listed are a hand-picked sample, not a complete inventory of Brazilian festivals.
  3. Computed dates. Movable-holiday dates (Carnaval, Sexta-feira Santa, Páscoa, Corpus Christi) are calculated from a well-known public algorithm for the date of Easter Sunday. We believe this computation to be accurate but make no warranty against calculation error; verify a legally significant date independently.
  4. Acceptable use. Automated use within the published rate limits is welcome.
  5. Availability. The Service is provided "as is" without warranty. We may change, limit or discontinue it at any time.
  6. Data. Our Privacy Policy describes what we process. In short: your query is answered from a bundled reference file plus arithmetic, and nothing is stored.
  7. Pro keys. Optional Pro API keys are issued at our discretion, are personal to the holder and may be revoked for abuse.
  8. Liability. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Unify Dynamics LLC is not liable for any loss arising from use of or reliance on the Service. Our total liability is limited to US $100.
  9. Governing law. California law; venue in San Mateo County, California.
