About

FileHealth answers the recurring file-format questions, computed locally with no upstream calls. recommend_format branches on real criteria — transparency, photo vs. flat graphic, animation and priority for images; use case and transparency for video; editing, fixed-layout, signature/archival and formatting needs for documents — and returns the actual tradeoffs, not just a format name. mime_lookup reads a bundled, hand-curated table of 270+ common extensions in either direction (extension to MIME type, or MIME type to matching extensions). estimate_file_size computes a rough size for video/audio from the real bitrate x duration / 8 formula (with typical bitrates by resolution and quality tier) or for images from width x height x bytes-per-pixel / compression-ratio, clearly labeled as an estimate from typical assumptions. Keyless; fully local; zero upstream calls; nothing stored.

What FileHealth is for

The recurring "which file format should I use" and "what does this file extension mean" questions — PNG or JPEG for a logo, MP4 or WebM for a video, PDF or DOCX for a report — plus a quick MIME-type lookup and a rough sense of how big a file will end up.

What it does

Format advice — recommend_format is a real decision tree, not a static lookup: for images it branches on transparency, photo-vs-flat-graphic, animation and your priority (quality/file size/compatibility/ editability); for video, on use case (streaming/editing/Apple ecosystem/max compatibility) and transparency; for documents, on editing, fixed-layout, signature/archival and formatting-complexity needs. Every recommendation comes with the actual tradeoffs, not just a name. MIME lookup — mime_lookup reads a bundled table of 270+ common extensions, in either direction: extension to MIME type, or MIME type to matching extensions. Size estimate — estimate_file_size computes a rough size for video/audio from the real bitrate x duration / 8 formula (with typical bitrates by resolution and quality), or for images from (width x height x bytes-per-pixel) / compression-ratio — clearly labeled as an estimate from typical assumptions, not a measurement of an actual encoded file.

What it is not

FileHealth doesn't touch, convert, or inspect any actual file — it's reference and arithmetic only, computed from the parameters you give it. Bitrates and compression ratios are hand-curated approximations of common real-world encoding choices; your actual file size depends on the specific encoder, settings and content.

FileHealth — Privacy Policy

Effective 28 September 2026. Unify Dynamics LLC ("we", "us"), Menlo Park, California.

What FileHealth is. FileHealth is a connector (an MCP server and REST API) that AI assistants and personal agents call on your behalf for file-format decision guidance, MIME-type lookups, and rough file-size estimates. You interact with your assistant; the assistant sends us only the values needed for that one calculation.

What we receive. The arguments of each tool call — the criteria you give for a format recommendation (e.g. whether an image needs transparency), an extension or MIME type to look up, or dimensions/duration/ quality inputs for a size estimate — the technical headers needed to serve the request (an IP address or a client identifier supplied by the assistant, and a Pro API key if you have one), and standard server logs.

Everything is computed on our server and nothing is stored. Every tool is a local calculation against hand-curated reference data and formulas bundled with the server; no request is forwarded to any third party, and no actual file is ever sent to, read by, or stored on our server — FileHealth never receives file contents, only the parameters you describe.

What we do not receive or store. We do not receive your conversation with the assistant, your name, contacts, account credentials, or any file itself. Rate-limit counters (a client identifier and timestamps) are held in memory for at most 24 hours. Hosting-provider access logs, which contain IP addresses and request paths but not request bodies, are retained for up to 30 days for security and abuse prevention.

Sub-processors. None — every tool is computed locally. Hosting: Vercel (United States regions).

Legal bases and your rights. For users in California, the EU/UK and elsewhere, our processing is necessary to provide the service you request through your assistant. Because we store no personal data beyond short-lived logs, requests to access, correct or delete personal data are usually satisfied automatically; you can still contact agent@connectorbay.com and we will respond within 30 days. We do not sell or share personal information and do not use your data to train models.

Children. FileHealth is a general-audience service operated by the adult using the assistant.

Changes. We will post changes here with a new effective date.

Terms of service

FileHealth — Terms of Service

Effective 28 September 2026. These terms govern use of the FileHealth connector ("the Service") operated by Unify Dynamics LLC ("we", "us").

  1. The Service. FileHealth returns file-format recommendations, MIME-type lookups, and rough file-size estimates, computed from hand-curated reference data and real formulas bundled with the server. It is accessed through an AI assistant or directly over MCP or HTTP.
  2. General guidance, not a guarantee. Format recommendations reflect common, generally accepted tradeoffs and are not a substitute for testing your specific use case. Size estimates are rough approximations from typical bitrate/compression assumptions; an actual encoded file's size depends on the specific encoder, settings and content, and can differ substantially from the estimate.
  3. No file processing. FileHealth does not accept, read, convert, or store any actual file; it answers only from the parameters you provide.
  4. Acceptable use. Automated use within the published rate limits is welcome.
  5. Availability. The Service is provided "as is" without warranty. We may change, limit or discontinue it at any time.
  6. Data. Our Privacy Policy describes what we process. In short: your query is answered on our server and nothing is stored.
  7. Pro keys. Optional Pro API keys are issued at our discretion, are personal to the holder and may be revoked for abuse.
  8. Liability. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Unify Dynamics LLC is not liable for any loss arising from use of or reliance on the Service, including reliance on a format recommendation or size estimate. Our total liability is limited to US $100.
  9. Governing law. California law; venue in San Mateo County, California.
