Real questions, and the tools your agent calls to answer them.
create_flashcard_setgenerate_study_sessionupdate_card_progressself_quiz_checkFlashcardmaker is a fully local flashcard-set organizer built from term/definition pairs you supply — it never invents educational content itself. create_flashcard_set validates and formats a set with a printable study sheet. generate_study_session selects cards for a session using a simplified Leitner box system (spaced mode: due/overdue and low-box cards prioritized by genuine logic, not a shuffle) or plain random sampling. update_card_progress moves a card's box after a hard/good/easy review, controlling when it resurfaces. self_quiz_check checks a typed answer against the correct definition with fuzzy text-similarity and keyword-overlap matching. Keyless; zero upstream calls; nothing submitted is stored.
Sources: Computed locally on caller-supplied term/definition content; fully local, zero upstream calls

Turning your own term/definition list into an organized, spaced-repetition-ready flashcard set — Flashcardmaker never invents educational content itself; every card comes from the pairs you supply.
create_flashcard_set takes a list of {term, definition} pairs (and an optional title), validates and
normalizes them, flags any duplicate terms, and returns both a structured card list (each starting at box 1,
never reviewed) and a printable, formatted text study sheet.
generate_study_session selects a subset of cards for one study session. In spaced mode it runs a simplified
Leitner box system: each card's box (1-5) has a review interval that roughly doubles (1, 2, 4, 8, 16 sessions),
a card is "due" once enough sessions have passed since it was last reviewed relative to its box's interval, and
due cards are prioritized by how overdue they are and then by the lowest box (the hardest cards) — genuine
priority logic, not a shuffle. If fewer cards are due than the requested session size, the least-familiar
not-yet-due cards fill the remaining slots. random mode does a plain random sample instead, for when you just
want a quick mixed review.
update_card_progress takes a card's current box, how the review went (hard, good, or easy), and the session
number, and returns its new box and next-due session: "hard" resets a card straight back to box 1 so it comes
up again next session, "good" advances it one box, and "easy" advances it two boxes so it resurfaces much
later. Feed the result back into your own card list before the next generate_study_session call — this is
what makes cards you find hard come back sooner than ones you find easy across repeated study sessions.
self_quiz_check takes a term, your typed answer, and the correct definition, and checks it with reasonable
fuzzy matching — a text-similarity ratio plus a significant-keyword-overlap score — returning correct, close,
or incorrect rather than requiring an exact character-for-character match.
Not a content generator — Flashcardmaker does not know or invent facts, definitions, or explanations; it only organizes, schedules, and checks answers against whatever term/definition pairs you provide. Not a full SM-2 spaced-repetition algorithm (like a dedicated spaced-repetition app) — it's a deliberately simpler box system. Not a semantic-understanding quiz grader — the fuzzy match is text-similarity and keyword overlap, not true language understanding, so an answer that's correct but phrased very differently from your definition may be marked "close" or "incorrect" even when a human grader would accept it.

What Flashcardmaker is. Flashcardmaker is a connector (an MCP server and REST API) that AI assistants and personal agents call on your behalf to organize term/definition pairs you supply into flashcard sets, generate spaced-repetition study sessions, track review progress, and check self-quiz answers. You interact with your assistant; the assistant sends us only the arguments needed for that one tool call.
What we receive. The arguments of each tool call — which may include the term/definition pairs you're studying, a self-quiz answer you typed, and simple scheduling numbers (box, session number) — the technical headers needed to serve the request (an IP address or a client identifier supplied by the assistant, and a Pro API key if you have one), and standard server logs.
We do not store, log, or retain the flashcard content or answers you submit. Every tool processes the content you send in memory, for that one request, and returns a result — nothing about your flashcards, your study progress, or your quiz answers is written to a database, written to a request log, cached, or used to train anything. Request bodies are not logged. Flashcardmaker has no persistent storage of its own: your card-progress state (box, last-seen session) is returned to your assistant to hold and pass back on the next call, not stored here.
What we do not receive or store. We do not receive your conversation with the assistant or your name, and we do not build a profile from your queries: each request is answered independently and nothing carries over between requests. Rate-limit counters (a client identifier and timestamps, never the request content) are held in memory for at most 24 hours. Hosting-provider access logs, which contain IP addresses and request paths but not request bodies, are retained for up to 30 days for security and abuse prevention.
Sub-processors. None — there is no upstream call at all; every tool computes its answer locally from the content you provide. Hosting: Vercel (United States regions).
Legal bases and your rights. Our processing is necessary to provide the service you request through your assistant. Because we store no personal data beyond short-lived, content-free logs, requests to access, correct or delete personal data are usually satisfied automatically; you can still contact agent@connectorbay.com and we will respond within 30 days. We do not sell or share personal information and do not use your data to train models.
Children. Flashcardmaker is a general-audience study tool operated by the person using the assistant — no account or profile is created.
Changes. We will post changes here with a new effective date.
