Sources: EU/UK: EC 261/2004 regulation text (legislation.gov.uk, EUR-Lex) cross-checked against europa.eu Your Europe guidance. US: DOT's April 2024 automatic-refund final rule and December 2025 Federal Register enforcement-discretion notice (transportation.gov, federalregister.gov). Canada: Air Passenger Protection Regulations SOR/2019-150 via the Canadian Transportation Agency (otc-cta.gc.ca). General information only, not legal advice; fully local, zero upstream calls.

"My flight was delayed 4 hours, am I owed anything?", "the airline cancelled with 5 days' notice, do I get compensation?", "is a US domestic delay refundable?" — a real calculator, not a vibe check, applying each regulator's actual thresholds instead of a rough rule of thumb.
eu261_delay_compensation computes the EU261 (EU/UK) EUR250/400/600 compensation tier by flight distance, once
arrival delay reaches the 3-hour threshold, honoring the extraordinary-circumstances exemption.
eu261_cancellation_compensation applies the real three-band notice-period rule from EU261 Article 5 — 14+ days
(never owed), 7-13 days (owed unless rerouted within 2 hours early / 4 hours late), and under 7 days (owed unless
rerouted within 1 hour early / 2 hours late). eu261_care_assistance checks whether meal, communication and hotel
assistance is owed at a given distance and delay — owed regardless of cause, even extraordinary circumstances,
unlike cash compensation. us_refund_eligibility applies the US Department of Transportation's automatic-refund
rule: a cancellation or "significant change" (more than 3 hours domestically, 6 hours internationally) that you
didn't accept triggers a mandatory cash refund, with its deadline (7 business days by card, 20 calendar days
otherwise). us_baggage_fee_refund_check checks the delayed-bag windows (12 hours domestic, 15-30 hours
international) after which a checked-bag fee must be refunded. canada_delay_compensation applies Canada's Air
Passenger Protection Regulations tiers — CAD125-1000 depending on airline size and delay length — but only when
the disruption was within the airline's control and not safety-required. jurisdiction_overview and
compare_jurisdictions give the full written summary or a side-by-side comparison. classify_disruption_cause
keyword-classifies a plain-language cause as likely "extraordinary circumstances" or likely the airline's own
operating risk. flightrights_glossary defines the key terms.
Not legal advice, and not a claims service — it doesn't file anything with an airline or regulator on your behalf. It covers delay and cancellation rights only; denied boarding and overbooking (being "bumped" from an oversold flight) has its own separate regime in every jurisdiction, covered by a different reference. Every figure here was checked against the regulator's own text or guidance as of this reference's build date — the EU261 regulation text, the US DOT's April 2024 automatic-refund rule (which has an open follow-on rulemaking as of this writing), and Canada's Air Passenger Protection Regulations — but these regimes are actively being revised, and the real outcome for any specific dispute depends on facts (what exactly caused the disruption, what the airline actually offered) that only the airline and regulator can settle. Verify against the official source — europa.eu for EU/UK, transportation.gov/airconsumer for the US, otc-cta.gc.ca for Canada — before relying on this for a real claim.

What Flight Rights is. Flight Rights is a connector (an MCP server and REST API) that AI assistants and personal agents call on your behalf for a hand-curated, fully local flight delay/cancellation passenger-rights reference and calculator — EU261, US DOT and Canada APPR rules, applied to the numbers you provide. You interact with your assistant; the assistant sends us only the arguments needed for that one calculation.
What we receive. The arguments of each tool call — a flight distance, a delay length, a notice period, an airline size, or a jurisdiction name — the technical headers needed to serve the request (an IP address or a client identifier supplied by the assistant, and a Pro API key if you have one), and standard server logs. We do not ask for or need your name, ticket number, or airline booking reference to answer any of these questions.
Everything is answered from a bundled, hand-curated reference file and computed locally, and nothing is stored. No request is forwarded to any third party — there is no upstream call at all, live or otherwise — and no query is logged in request bodies, recorded, or used to train anything.
What we do not receive or store. We do not receive your conversation with the assistant, and we do not build a profile from your queries: each request is answered independently and nothing carries over between requests. Rate-limit counters (a client identifier and timestamps) are held in memory for at most 24 hours. Hosting-provider access logs, which contain IP addresses and request paths but not request bodies, are retained for up to 30 days for security and abuse prevention.
Sub-processors. None — the entire dataset is bundled with the server and every calculation runs locally. Hosting: Vercel (United States regions).
Legal bases and your rights. Our processing is necessary to provide the service you request through your assistant. Because we store no personal data beyond short-lived logs, requests to access, correct or delete personal data are usually satisfied automatically; you can still contact agent@connectorbay.com and we will respond within 30 days. We do not sell or share personal information and do not use your data to train models.
Children. Flight Rights is a general-audience service operated by the adult using the assistant.
Changes. We will post changes here with a new effective date.
