About

GrowGuide bundles home-gardening reference into one connector, computed locally with no upstream calls. Hardiness zone info: all 16 USDA zones (3a-10b) with temperature bands, example cities and growing-season length. Frost dates: average last-spring/first-fall frost per zone. Planting calendar: an actual start-indoors/transplant/direct-sow schedule computed from a zone's frost date and a crop's timing offsets. Plant care: light, water, soil pH and spacing for common vegetables, herbs, houseplants and ornamentals. Companion planting: good companions and plants to avoid, with reasoning. Pest guide: identify a pest or disease by name, symptom or affected plant, with an organic treatment. Soil pH guide: a plant's ideal range, or an assessment of a given reading. Spacing calculator: how many plants fit a bed. Compost calculator: carbon:nitrogen ratio for a materials mix against the ideal 25:1-30:1 range. Seed starting guide: germination temperature, days and depth. Keyless; nothing stored; general gardening guidance, not a substitute for your local extension office's advice.

About GrowGuide

GrowGuide is a home-gardening toolkit: ten reference tools and calculators, all computed locally with no upstream calls, no accounts and no tracking.

  • Hardiness zone info covers all 16 USDA zones (3a-10b) with temperature bands, example cities and growing-season length.
  • Frost dates gives average last-spring and first-fall frost for a zone.
  • Planting calendar computes an actual start-indoors/transplant/direct-sow schedule for a crop from a zone's average last frost date.
  • Plant care covers light, water, soil pH and spacing for common vegetables, herbs, houseplants and ornamentals.
  • Companion planting lists good companions and plants to avoid for a crop, with the reasoning.
  • Pest guide identifies common garden pests and diseases by name, symptom, or affected plant, with an organic treatment.
  • Soil pH guide gives a plant's ideal range or assesses a pH reading, for a specific plant or in general.
  • Spacing calculator estimates how many plants fit a bed at a plant's standard spacing.
  • Compost calculator estimates a compost mix's carbon:nitrogen ratio against the ideal 25:1-30:1 range.
  • Seed starting guide gives germination temperature, days to germinate and planting depth for a crop.

All frost dates and zone data are typical averages — actual conditions vary by microclimate, so check with your local extension office for a precise planting schedule.

Conventions

  • Read-only. Every tool reads public data or computes; nothing is written anywhere and nothing about the user is stored.
  • Result envelope. ok: true with data, or ok: false with a structured error (bad_input, not_found, upstream_error). degraded lists optional sources that were unreachable.
  • Rate limits. Free tier 60 tool calls/minute and 300/day per user (keyed on the user identifier supplied by the host agent, else client IP); Pro keys raise this. Over-limit calls return HTTP 429 with Retry-After. initialize and tools/list are never counted.

GrowGuide — Privacy Policy

Effective 23 September 2026. Unify Dynamics LLC ("we", "us"), Menlo Park, California.

What GrowGuide is. GrowGuide is a connector (an MCP server and REST API) that AI assistants and personal agents call on your behalf for home-gardening reference and calculators: hardiness zones, frost dates, a planting calendar, plant care, companion planting, a pest guide, soil pH guidance, a spacing calculator, a compost calculator and a seed-starting guide. You interact with your assistant; the assistant sends us only the values needed for that one lookup or calculation.

What we receive. The arguments of each tool call — a hardiness zone, a crop or plant name, a pest/symptom query, a soil pH reading, bed dimensions, or compost material volumes — the technical headers needed to serve the request (an IP address or a client identifier supplied by the assistant, and a Pro API key if you have one), and standard server logs.

Everything is computed on our server and nothing is stored. All reference data (hardiness zones, frost dates, planting timing, plant care, companion planting, pest guide, compost ratios, seed-starting data) is hand-curated and bundled with the server; no request is forwarded to any third party, and no query is logged in request bodies, recorded, or used to train anything.

What we do not receive or store. We do not receive your conversation with the assistant, your name, contacts, your specific address or garden location (only a general hardiness zone you provide), or account credentials. Rate- limit counters (a client identifier and timestamps) are held in memory for at most 24 hours. Hosting-provider access logs, which contain IP addresses and request paths but not request bodies, are retained for up to 30 days for security and abuse prevention.

Sub-processors. None — every tool is computed locally. Hosting: Vercel (United States regions).

Legal bases and your rights. For users in California, the EU/UK and elsewhere, our processing is necessary to provide the service you request through your assistant. Because we store no personal data beyond short-lived logs, requests to access, correct or delete personal data are usually satisfied automatically; you can still contact agent@connectorbay.com and we will respond within 30 days. We do not sell or share personal information and do not use your data to train models.

Children. GrowGuide is a general-audience service operated by the adult using the assistant.

Changes. We will post changes here with a new effective date.

Effective 23 September 2026. These terms govern use of the GrowGuide connector ("the Service") operated by Unify Dynamics LLC ("we", "us").

  1. The Service. GrowGuide returns home-gardening reference and calculations — hardiness zones, frost dates, a planting calendar, plant care, companion planting, a pest guide, soil pH guidance, a spacing calculator, a compost calculator and a seed-starting guide — computed from hand-curated data and formulas bundled with the server. It is accessed through an AI assistant or directly over MCP or HTTP.

  5. Availability. The Service is provided "as is" without warranty. We may change, limit or discontinue it at any time.
  6. Data. Our Privacy Policy describes what we process. In short: your query is answered on our server and nothing is stored.
  7. Pro keys. Optional Pro API keys are issued at our discretion, are personal to the holder and may be revoked for abuse.
  8. Liability. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Unify Dynamics LLC is not liable for any loss (including crop loss) arising from use of or reliance on the Service. Our total liability is limited to US $100.
