About

Hidden Word is a fully local, stateless word-search grid game engine — a real playable game, not a rules reference. new_game builds a fresh grid with words from one or more categories (animals, fruits, colors, countries, sports, space, weather, kitchen, school, music, ocean, jobs) placed in random directions; difficulty ("easy"/"medium"/"hard") is a shortcut for size, word count, and direction variety. submit_word checks a claimed find's coordinates straight against the grid's real letters, in either reading direction, and moves it from remaining to found. get_hint reveals one remaining word's length, starting cell, and direction. solve runs a genuine fresh 8-direction grid search for every word's real location — not a lookup of stored placements. render_grid gives a plain-text board with remaining words blanked out. category_list lists the built-in word categories. Because the architecture is stateless (your assistant holds the game state between calls, there is no server-side session), the solution is technically present in the state new_game returns — documented plainly as a known trade-off of any stateless game design. Keyless; fully local; zero upstream calls; nothing stored.

Sources: Hand-curated word bank across a dozen everyday categories; original grid-generation and grid-search game logic. Fully local, zero upstream calls.

What it can do

6 tools, grouped by job. Every one is read-only or compute-only.

OpenAPI
Play3 tools
  • New gameGenerates a new word-search grid and returns the full game state (including the solution — see the server's trust note) plus a hidden-style render…
  • Submit wordValidates a claimed find against the grid itself (straight line, either reading direction) and moves it from remaining to found.
  • Render gridPlain-text rendering of the current grid plus found/remaining word lists.
Assist2 tools
  • Get hintReveals one remaining word's length, starting cell, and direction (not its end cell) via a real grid search.
  • SolveRuns a genuine fresh 8-direction grid search for every word's location directly against state['grid'] — it does not read any stored answer key.

  • Category listLists the built-in word categories and how many words each has.

What Hidden Word is for

A real, playable word-search grid game — not a rules reference. Generate a grid, hunt for the hidden words, and check your finds against the actual letters on the board.

What it does

new_game builds a fresh letter grid with a set of words from one or more categories (animals, fruits, colors, countries, sports, space, weather, kitchen, school, music, ocean, jobs) placed horizontally, vertically, or diagonally — forward or backward. difficulty ("easy"/"medium"/"hard") is a one-word shortcut for grid size, word count, and how many directions are in play. submit_word checks a claimed find's start and end coordinates straight against the grid's actual letters (read in either direction), and moves it from remaining to found. get_hint reveals one remaining word's length, starting cell, and direction without giving away its end cell. solve runs a genuine fresh 8-direction search over the grid for every word's real location — it is not reading back a stored answer key, it re-derives every location from the grid text itself. render_grid gives a plain-text view of the board with remaining words blanked out by default. category_list shows what's available.

How state works (and its one honest limitation)

This server keeps no game session. Every call that touches an in-progress game takes the full current state (as returned by the previous call) and hands back a new one — your assistant carries it between turns. Because of that, new_game's returned state necessarily contains the full solution: there is nowhere else for a stateless server to keep it. If you want to play honestly, don't peek at state.words or state.placements before you've actually found them — that's the same trust the host of any physical word-search puzzle already asks of a player grading their own paper.

What it is not

Not a word-search reference (this catalog already has those) — it is an actual playable engine with a real grid, real validation, and a real solver. Not a dictionary: WORD_BANK is a fixed, hand-curated list, not an open vocabulary. Nothing you play is stored — each grid lives only in the state your assistant is holding.

Privacy policy

Hidden Word — Privacy Policy

Effective 27 September 2026. Unify Dynamics LLC ("we", "us"), Menlo Park, California.

What Hidden Word is. Hidden Word is a connector (an MCP server and REST API) that AI assistants and personal agents call on your behalf to run a word-search grid game. You interact with your assistant; the assistant sends us only the arguments needed for that one move — most calls include the current game state, which is the puzzle grid and progress your assistant is holding for you, not an account record.

What we receive. The arguments of each tool call — grid settings, the current game state object, a claimed word and coordinates, or a hint request — the technical headers needed to serve the request (an IP address or a client identifier supplied by the assistant, and a Pro API key if you have one), and standard server logs.

Everything is computed locally and nothing is stored. Grids are generated from a bundled word list at request time; there is no upstream call, live or otherwise, and no game state is saved on our side between calls — your assistant is the only place a game persists. We do not log request bodies (which would include your state and guesses) and do not use anything you send to train models.

What we do not receive or store. We do not receive your conversation with the assistant or your name. Each request is answered independently. Rate-limit counters (a client identifier and timestamps) are held in memory for at most 24 hours. Hosting-provider access logs, which contain IP addresses and request paths but not request bodies, are retained for up to 30 days for security and abuse prevention.

Sub-processors. None — the entire word bank and game logic are bundled with the server and answered locally. Hosting: Vercel (United States regions).

Legal bases and your rights. Our processing is necessary to provide the service you request through your assistant. Because we store no personal data beyond short-lived logs, requests to access, correct or delete personal data are usually satisfied automatically; you can still contact agent@connectorbay.com and we will respond within 30 days. We do not sell or share personal information.

Children. Hidden Word is a general-audience game operated by the adult using the assistant.

Changes. We will post changes here with a new effective date.

Terms of service

Hidden Word — Terms of Service

Effective 27 September 2026. These terms govern use of the Hidden Word connector ("the Service") operated by Unify Dynamics LLC ("we", "us").

  1. The Service. Hidden Word is a stateless word-search grid game: it generates puzzles, validates player finds against the actual grid, gives hints, and solves puzzles on request. It is accessed through an AI assistant or directly over MCP or HTTP.
  2. Stateless by design. The Service keeps no game session of its own. Your assistant holds the game state between moves and sends the full current state back on every call. Losing that state means losing the game in progress; we cannot recover it.
  3. Known limitation, stated plainly. Because state must travel through the calling assistant, the solution to a puzzle is technically present in the data returned by new_game. We do not use this to give any player an unfair advantage, but we also cannot prevent an assistant that inspects state from seeing it. Play fairly.
  4. Content. Word lists are a fixed, hand-curated bank of everyday words across a dozen categories — not an open dictionary, and not sourced from any third party's proprietary word list.
  5. Acceptable use. Automated use within the published rate limits is welcome. Do not use the Service to probe, scrape, or overload the hosting infrastructure beyond normal gameplay.
  6. Availability. The Service is provided "as is" without warranty. We may change, limit or discontinue it at any time.
  7. Data. Our Privacy Policy describes what we process. In short: your move is answered from bundled game logic, and no game state is stored on our side.
  8. Pro keys. Optional Pro API keys are issued at our discretion, are personal to the holder and may be revoked for abuse.
  9. Liability. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Unify Dynamics LLC is not liable for any loss or damage arising from use of the Service. Our total liability is limited to US $100.
  10. Governing law. California law; venue in San Mateo County, California.
