About

Khel (Game) is a hand-curated reference of traditional Indian games. game_rules gives one game's objective, player count, equipment and basic how-to-play, plus its typical setting; game_search finds games by partial name, alias, category, or objective/history text. games_by_players filters by how many people you have; games_by_setting filters indoor vs outdoor (and setting-flexible games); equipment_needed lists just what you need to play. game_history covers origin and lineage, handled carefully for well-documented Indian-origin chains — Chaturanga to modern chess via Persian shatranj, Moksha Patam to Snakes and Ladders, Pachisi/Chaupar to Ludo. games_by_age suggests games for young children, older children, or everyone. random_game picks one for a 'game of the day' prompt. game_glossary defines terms like raider, kho, lagori and manjha. Where a game has codified federation rules (Kabaddi, Kho-Kho, Carrom, Langdi, Atya-Patya, Mallakhamb) the standard version is described with a note that informal play varies; most street and folk games have no governing body at all, and say so rather than presenting one version as official. Keyless; fully local; a rules reference, not live scorekeeping.

Sources: Hand-curated from public reporting, published federation rulebooks (Kabaddi Federation of India, Kho Kho Federation of India, All India Carrom Federation, Langdi Federation of India, Mallakhamb Federation of India) and standard historical accounts (chess/Chaturanga, Snakes and Ladders/Moksha Patam, Ludo/Pachisi) as of build date; fully local, zero upstream calls

What Khel (Game) is for

"Khel" (खेल) is the Hindi word for "game" or "play." The question that comes up whenever someone wants to actually play a traditional Indian game rather than just recognize its name — how do you play Kabaddi, what do you need for carrom, what's the difference between Pachisi and Chaupar, is chess really Indian in origin — answered from one hand-curated reference, with no scrolling through inconsistent blog posts.

What it does

Objective, player count, equipment and basic how-to-play for any of 24 hand-curated games (game_rules); search across names, aliases, categories and descriptions (game_search); filter games by how many players you have (games_by_players) or by indoor vs. outdoor setting (games_by_setting); a focused equipment checklist (equipment_needed); origin and history notes, handled carefully for games with a well-documented Indian-origin lineage — Chaturanga's path to modern chess through Persian shatranj, Moksha Patam's path to Snakes and Ladders, and Pachisi/Chaupar's path to Ludo (game_history); age-appropriate suggestions for young children, older children, or games suited to everyone (games_by_age); a random pick for a "game of the day" prompt (random_game); and a glossary of terms specific to these games — raider, kho, lagori, manjha and more (game_glossary).

The 24 games span team tag sports (Kabaddi, Kho-Kho, Langdi, Atya-Patya), street bat-and-stick and throwing games (Gilli-Danda, Pittu/Lagori, Marbles, Gutte), board games (Carrom, Pachisi, Chaupar, Ludo, Snakes and Ladders, Chess, Pallanguzhi, Chowka Bhara), playground games (Stapu/Hopscotch, Vish-Amrit, Chidiya Udd), festival pastimes (Kite Flying/Patang, Rangoli Competitions, Dandiya, Spinning Top/Lattu), and the pole-and-rope sport Mallakhamb.

What it is not

Not a scorekeeper — Khel (Game) explains how a game is played, not how to track a match in progress (that's the separate tally connector). Where a game has codified modern competitive rules — Kabaddi, Kho-Kho, Carrom, Langdi, Atya-Patya, Mallakhamb — the standard federation version is described, with a note that informal and village play still varies. Where a game has no governing body at all, which is most street and folk games here, the entry describes commonly played rules and says plainly that there is no single "official" version — regional names and house rules are the norm, not an exception. Historical lineage claims (chess, Snakes and Ladders, Ludo) are stated at the level the historical record actually supports, including noting where exact dates or details are debated rather than settled.

Tools

Rules & lookup

game_rules — One game's objective, player count, equipment, basic how-to-play, and typical setting (indoor/outdoor). Use for "how do you play Kho-Kho", "what are the rules of carrom". Args: name.

game_search — Search all 24 games by partial name, alias, category, or objective/history text. Use for "games about stones", "any game with cowrie shells", "tag games". Args: query.

equipment_needed — What a specific game requires to play — equipment only (see game_rules for the full picture). Use for "what do I need to play gilli-danda", "carrom equipment list". Args: game.

Filters

games_by_players — Games playable with a group in the given size range. An open-ended game (like marbles, with no fixed maximum) matches any range at or above its minimum. Use for "games for 6 to 10 players". Args: min_players, max_players.

games_by_setting — Games filtered by where they're played. 'indoor' and 'outdoor' each also include games flexible about setting; 'both' returns only the setting-flexible games. Use for "indoor games for kids", "outdoor games for a birthday party". Args: setting.

games_by_age — Games suited to a given age group. Games suited to all ages are included for any age-group query; a query for 'all_ages' itself returns only the games explicitly suited to everyone. Use for "games for a 5-year-old", "family game night ideas". Args: age_group.

Reference

game_history — Origin and history notes for a game, including well-documented Indian-origin lineages (Chaturanga to modern chess via Persian shatranj; Moksha Patam to Snakes and Ladders; Pachisi/Chaupar to Ludo), stated conservatively where the historical record is incomplete or contested. Use for "is chess originally Indian", "history of snakes and ladders", "where does kabaddi come from". Args: name.

game_glossary — Definitions of terms specific to these games (raider, kho, lagori, manjha, cowrie shells, and more). Use for "what's a raider in kabaddi", "what does kho mean". Args: term.

Play

random_game — One game picked at random from the full set — good for a "game of the day" prompt. Use for "suggest a game", "give me a random traditional Indian game". Args: seed.

Conventions

  • Read-only. Every tool reads public data or computes; nothing is written anywhere and nothing about the user is stored.
  • Result envelope. ok: true with data, or ok: false with a structured error (bad_input, not_found, upstream_error). degraded lists optional sources that were unreachable.
  • Rate limits. Free tier 60 tool calls/minute and 300/day per user (keyed on the user identifier supplied by the host agent, else client IP); Pro keys raise this. Over-limit calls return HTTP 429 with Retry-After. initialize and tools/list are never counted.

Privacy policy

Khel (Game) — Privacy Policy

Effective 24 September 2026. Unify Dynamics LLC ("we", "us"), Menlo Park, California.

What Khel (Game) is. Khel (Game) is a connector (an MCP server and REST API) that AI assistants and personal agents call on your behalf for a hand-curated reference of traditional Indian games — rules, equipment, how-to-play, player-count and age-group filters, history notes, and a glossary. You interact with your assistant; the assistant sends us only the arguments needed for that one lookup.

What we receive. The arguments of each tool call — a game name, a search query, a player-count range, a setting or age group, or a glossary term — the technical headers needed to serve the request (an IP address or a client identifier supplied by the assistant, and a Pro API key if you have one), and standard server logs.

Everything is answered from a bundled, hand-curated reference file and nothing is stored. No request is forwarded to any third party — there is no upstream call at all, live or otherwise — and no query is logged in request bodies, recorded, or used to train anything.

What we do not receive or store. We do not receive your conversation with the assistant or your name, and we do not build a profile from your queries: each request is answered independently and nothing carries over between requests. Rate-limit counters (a client identifier and timestamps) are held in memory for at most 24 hours. Hosting-provider access logs, which contain IP addresses and request paths but not request bodies, are retained for up to 30 days for security and abuse prevention.

Sub-processors. None — the entire dataset is bundled with the server and answered locally. Hosting: Vercel (United States regions).

Legal bases and your rights. Our processing is necessary to provide the service you request through your assistant. Because we store no personal data beyond short-lived logs, requests to access, correct or delete personal data are usually satisfied automatically; you can still contact agent@connectorbay.com and we will respond within 30 days. We do not sell or share personal information and do not use your data to train models.

Children. Khel (Game) is a general-audience service operated by the adult using the assistant. Some of its content — rules for young-children's games such as hopscotch — is written with children as players in mind, but the Service itself is operated by, and collects data only from, the adult and their assistant, not directly from a child.

Changes. We will post changes here with a new effective date.

Terms of service

Khel (Game) — Terms of Service

Effective 24 September 2026. These terms govern use of the Khel (Game) connector ("the Service") operated by Unify Dynamics LLC ("we", "us").

  1. The Service. Khel (Game) returns a hand-curated reference of traditional Indian games — rules, equipment, how-to-play, player-count and age-group filters, history notes, and a glossary — from data verified against public reporting and published federation rulebooks at build time. It is accessed through an AI assistant or directly over MCP or HTTP.
  2. A rules reference, not a scorekeeper, and not an official rulebook. Khel (Game) is an independent reference tool, not affiliated with or endorsed by any sport federation, state body, or game publisher it describes. It does not track live matches or scores (see the separate tally connector for that), and where a game has no codified governing body, its entry describes commonly played rules rather than a single official version — always expect regional variation in casual and village play.
  3. Facts change. Rules, equipment conventions and historical accounts reflect public reporting and published rulebooks as of the build date stated in the Service's own data; for standardized competitive play, always check the relevant federation's current rulebook.
  4. Acceptable use. Automated use within the published rate limits is welcome.
  5. Availability. The Service is provided "as is" without warranty. We may change, limit or discontinue it at any time.
  6. Data. Our Privacy Policy describes what we process. In short: your query is answered from a bundled reference file, and nothing is stored.
  7. Pro keys. Optional Pro API keys are issued at our discretion, are personal to the holder and may be revoked for abuse.
  8. Liability. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Unify Dynamics LLC is not liable for any loss arising from use of or reliance on the Service, including any loss or injury arising from actually playing a game described here (for example, competitive kite flying with abrasive kite string, or pole/rope work in Mallakhamb, both of which carry real physical risk). Our total liability is limited to US $100.
  9. Governing law. California law; venue in San Mateo County, California.
