Real questions, and the tools your agent calls to answer them.
farm_weatherrain_historygrowing_degree_dayscrop_guidefertilizer_calcirrigation_advicepest_guideland_unitsKisan puts a field advisor's toolkit behind one connector. Farm weather from Open-Meteo: rain and chance, reference evapotranspiration, soil temperature and moisture at two depths, humidity, wind, radiation, a daily spray-window rating and flags for frost, heat, heavy rain, wind and disease pressure. Rain and temperature history for any window with totals, wet days and dry spells. Growing degree days since sowing against the crop's GDD to maturity. Crop guides for 39 crops with seasons, sowing and harvest windows, seed rate, spacing, water, soil, pH, NPK, stages, yields, pests and diseases. A fertilizer calculator to urea, DAP or SSP, MOP or complexes in kilograms and bags with a split schedule. Irrigation scheduling from ET0 and FAO-56 crop coefficients to mm and litres per day for your area and system. A pest and disease guide with symptoms, thresholds and IPM. Land units with state-wise bigha, guntha, cent, kanal and marla. Keyless; nothing stored; guidance, not agronomic advice.

Field weather from Open-Meteo: a 7–14 day forecast with rain and chance, reference evapotranspiration, temperatures, soil temperature and moisture at two depths, humidity, wind and gusts, radiation, sunrise and sunset, a spray-window rating per day and flags for frost, heat stress, heavy rain, strong wind and disease-favourable humidity, with a water balance. Rain and temperature history for any window up to a year from ERA5 with totals, wet days, dry spells and the wettest day. Growing degree days accumulated since sowing for a crop's base temperature, against typical GDD to maturity, with the likely stage. Crop guides for 39 crops — rice, wheat, maize, millets, pulses, oilseeds, cotton, sugarcane, vegetables, fruits, plantation crops, spices and flowers — with seasons and windows (India-first, with temperate notes), duration, seed rate, spacing, water, soil, pH, NPK, stages, yield, main pests and diseases, FAO-56 crop coefficients. A fertilizer calculator from the crop's NPK (or a soil-test dose) and your area to urea, DAP or SSP, MOP or a complex, in kilograms and bags with a basal and top-dressing split. Irrigation scheduling by stage from ET0 × Kc minus effective rain, as mm/day and litres for the area and system, with a 7-day outlook. A pest and disease guide (34 entries) with symptoms, monitoring thresholds and cultural, biological and chemical IPM steps. Land units including state-wise bigha, guntha, cent, kanal, marla.
Not an agronomist or a label: doses are blanket state-recommendation ranges, chemical names are examples of registered groups, and the local KVK, extension officer and product label override everything here. Weather is a model forecast; soil moisture is modelled, not measured. Mandi prices are not included (the government price API needs a registered key).
farm_weather — Field forecast: daily rain and chance, ET0, temperatures, soil temperature and moisture (0–9 cm, 9–27 cm), humidity, wind, radiation, sunrise/sunset, spray-window rating and agronomic flags (frost, heat, heavy rain, wind, disease pressure). Use for "weather for my farm this week", "can I spray tomorrow". Args: place, latitude, longitude, days.
rain_history — Rain, temperature, humidity and ET0 for a past window (ERA5 reanalysis, up to ~5 days ago), with totals, wet days, dry spells and the wettest day. Use for "rain in August at Latur", "how dry was last month". Args: place, latitude, longitude, start, end.
growing_degree_days — Accumulated growing degree days since sowing (archive to ~5 days ago plus forecast to today), against the crop's base temperature and typical GDD to maturity, with a progress estimate. Use for "how far along is my maize sown 15 June at Indore". Args: crop, sowing_date, place, latitude, longitude.
crop_guide — Package of practices for a crop: seasons and sowing/harvest windows, duration, seed rate, spacing, water, soil, pH, NPK, growth stages, yield, main pests and diseases, FAO-56 Kc and GDD base. Or list crops by category. Use for "when to sow wheat", "spacing for tomato", "which pulses can I grow". Args: crop, category.
fertilizer_calc — Turn a crop's NPK recommendation (or your own kg/ha) and your field area into fertilizer quantities — urea, DAP or SSP, MOP, or a complex — in kg and 50 kg bags, with a basal/top-dressing split. Use for "fertilizer for 2 acres of tomato", "5 bigha wheat in UP". Args: crop, area, unit, n_kg_ha, p_kg_ha, k_kg_ha, scheme.
irrigation_advice — Daily crop water need from ET0 × FAO-56 Kc for the growth stage, minus effective rain from the forecast, as mm/day and litres for your area and system efficiency, with a 7-day outlook. Use for "how much to irrigate chilli at flowering on 2 acres with drip". Args: crop, stage, place, latitude, longitude, et0_mm_day, area, unit, efficiency.
pest_guide — Identify a pest or disease from its name or symptom, per crop: symptoms, monitoring thresholds and IPM steps (cultural → biological → chemical). Use for "chilli leaves curling upward", "rice dead hearts", "pests of cotton". Args: query, crop.
land_units — Convert a land area to hectares, acres, square metres and the common Indian units, with the state-wise bigha table. Use for "5 bigha in Punjab to acres", "how many guntha in an acre". Args: value, unit.

What Kisan is. Kisan is a connector (an MCP server and REST API) that AI assistants and personal agents call on your behalf for farm information: field weather, rain history, growing degree days, crop guides, fertilizer and irrigation calculations, pest guidance and land units. You interact with your assistant; the assistant sends us only the place or coordinates, crop, dates, area and numbers needed for the answer.
What we receive. The arguments of each tool call (a place or coordinates, a crop, a sowing date, an area and unit, a symptom), the technical headers needed to serve the request (an IP address or a client identifier supplied by the assistant, and a Pro API key if you have one), and standard server logs.
Lookups are forwarded or computed, not stored. Weather requests are passed to Open-Meteo with the coordinates; crop, pest and land tables and all calculators run on our server. We do not record your field's location or build a profile. Nothing you send is stored, logged in request bodies or used to train anything. Weather answers are cached in memory for up to 30 minutes (forecast) or a day (history), keyed by coordinates and dates.
What we do not receive or store. We do not receive your conversation with the assistant, your name, contacts, land records or any account credentials. Rate-limit counters (a client identifier and timestamps) are held in memory for at most 24 hours. Hosting-provider access logs, which contain IP addresses and request paths but not request bodies, are retained for up to 30 days for security and abuse prevention.
Sub-processors. Open-Meteo (forecast and archive) receives coordinates and our server's IP address, never yours; Open-Meteo geocoding receives a place name only when it is not in our bundled gazetteer. Hosting: Vercel (United States regions).
Legal bases and your rights. For users in California, the EU/UK and elsewhere, our processing is necessary to provide the service you request through your assistant. Because we store no personal data beyond short-lived logs, requests to access, correct or delete personal data are usually satisfied automatically; you can still contact agent@connectorbay.com and we will respond within 30 days. We do not sell or share personal information and do not use your data to train models.
Children. Kisan is a general-audience service; we knowingly collect no personal data from anyone.
Changes. We will post changes here with a new effective date.
