format_info — Full detail for one murder-mystery-party hosting format: how it works, best group size and experience level, typical duration, host effort, and pros/cons. Use for "what's a pre-scripted kit", "how does a self-run packet format work", "explain the escape-room hybrid format". Args: name.
find_format_for_group — Scores every hosting format by how well its designed player-count range fits group_size (a size outside the format's range loses points with distance), plus a bonus if experience_level matches, and returns the best-fitting formats. Use for "what format works best for 6 beginners", "best murder mystery format for a 20-person office party". Args: group_size, experience_level.
clue_design_tip — One practical clue-design principle for a murder mystery party, keyed by topic — or, with no topic, the full list of tip topics. Use for "how many clues should point to each suspect", "how do I avoid the table solving the case too early". Args: topic.
character_role_tip — One practical tip for casting, writing or assigning characters in a murder mystery party, keyed by topic — or, with no topic, the full list of tip topics. Use for "how do I pick who plays the killer", "how do I write a good alibi", "should the host also play a character". Args: topic.
red_herring_design_tip — Every red-herring design principle at once: giving misdirection real motive, pairing it with a real non-murder secret, limiting how many you use, physical vs. behavioral misdirection, and keeping the mystery fair-play. Use for "how do I design a good red herring", "how many red herrings is too many".
pacing_structure — Computes a genuine reveal-timeline for a stated party size and total duration — real arithmetic, not a lookup. Returns how many investigation rounds fit, a minute-by-minute phase breakdown (welcome/briefing, each investigation round, final deliberation, the reveal), a suggested mid-party break for longer sessions, and recommended clue/red-herring/named-character counts scaled to the group size. Use for "plan a timeline for a 3-hour party with 10 guests", "how many investigation rounds should a 2-hour mystery have", "how many clues do I need for 8 players". Args: party_size, duration_minutes.
term_glossary — Definitions of common murder-mystery-party vocabulary — whodunit, gamemaster, dossier, red herring, means/motive/opportunity, alibi, floater role, wildcard, cold open, fair-play mystery, and more. Use for "what does 'red herring' mean here", "what's a floater role". Args: term.
beginner_tips — A ranked shortlist of general tips for someone hosting their first murder mystery party — picking an easy format, briefing the killer, handling a no-show, and more. Use for "tips for hosting my first mystery night", "what should a first-time host know". Args: count.

What Murder is. Murder is a connector (an MCP server and REST API) that AI assistants and personal agents call on your behalf for a hand-curated murder-mystery party-game design reference — formats, clue design, roles, red herrings and pacing. You interact with your assistant; the assistant sends us only the arguments needed for that one lookup.
What we receive. The arguments of each tool call, the technical headers needed to serve the request (an IP address or a client identifier supplied by the assistant, and a Pro API key if you have one), and standard server logs.
Everything is answered from a bundled, hand-curated reference file and nothing is stored. No request is forwarded to any third party — there is no upstream call at all, live or otherwise — and no query is logged in request bodies, recorded, or used to train anything.
What we do not receive or store. We do not receive your conversation with the assistant or your name, and we do not build a profile from your queries: each request is answered independently and nothing carries over between requests. Rate-limit counters (a client identifier and timestamps) are held in memory for at most 24 hours. Hosting-provider access logs, which contain IP addresses and request paths but not request bodies, are retained for up to 30 days for security and abuse prevention.
Sub-processors. None — the entire dataset is bundled with the server and answered locally. Hosting: Vercel (United States regions).
Legal bases and your rights. Our processing is necessary to provide the service you request through your assistant. Because we store no personal data beyond short-lived logs, requests to access, correct or delete personal data are usually satisfied automatically; you can still contact agent@connectorbay.com and we will respond within 30 days. We do not sell or share personal information and do not use your data to train models.
Children. Murder is a general-audience service operated by the adult using the assistant.
Changes. We will post changes here with a new effective date.
