Real questions, and the tools your agent calls to answer them.
new_gamenew_gamemake_moveget_valid_movesai_moveanalyze_positionnew_gamelist_presetsrules_infoNim Play is a fully local, playable Nim engine. new_game starts a game with explicit piles, a random spread, or a named preset ('marienbad' for the classic 1/3/5/7 start), in normal (last to move wins) or misere (last to move loses) play. make_move applies your move and reports in_progress/win/loss. get_valid_moves lists legal moves. render_board draws the position as ASCII. ai_move computes and applies the AI's move: on 'optimal' difficulty it uses Bouton's nim-sum theorem (and the corresponding misere endgame theorem) to play provably optimally, guaranteed to win any position that is a theoretical win; 'easy' plays randomly. analyze_position exposes the nim-sum and whether the position is a proven win or loss for whoever moves next. rules_info explains the rules and strategy; list_presets lists built-in starting positions. Stateless — no server-side game storage, the caller passes state between calls. Keyless; fully local; zero upstream calls; nothing stored.
Sources: Original implementation of classical Nim theory (Bouton's theorem, 1901) and the well-known misere-Nim endgame theorem; fully local, zero upstream calls.
The publisher, Unify Dynamics LLC, states that tool inputs are processed in memory and not retained.

A fully local, PLAYABLE Nim engine — not a rules reference, an actual game you can play move by move through your assistant. Covers classic multi-pile Nim, the historic Marienbad-style 1/3/5/7 preset, and misere play (last player to move loses instead of wins).
new_game starts a game with explicit piles, a random spread, or a named preset, in normal or misere
play. make_move applies your move (remove some objects from one pile) and reports the result.
get_valid_moves lists legal moves. render_board draws the current position as ASCII. ai_move computes
and applies the AI opponent's move — on "optimal" difficulty it uses real nim-sum (XOR) theory, the
mathematically proven optimal strategy for Nim, so it never loses a position it holds a theoretical win in.
analyze_position shows the nim-sum and whether the position is a proven win or loss for whoever moves
next — the same reasoning ai_move uses, made visible. rules_info explains the rules and strategy for a
variant, and list_presets lists the built-in starting positions.
There is no server-side game storage. Every call takes the full game state (the exact object returned by
the previous call) and returns a new one. Your assistant is responsible for holding onto state between
calls in the conversation — nothing is remembered here.
Not a rules encyclopedia — for that, browse this catalog's dedicated game-reference connectors. This one is the actual, playable game, with a real (not decorative) optimal-play algorithm behind its AI.
Effective 27 September 2026. Unify Dynamics LLC ("we", "us"), Menlo Park, California.
What Nim Play is. Nim Play is a connector (an MCP server and REST API) that AI assistants and personal agents call on your behalf to run a local Nim game — starting a game, applying moves, and computing an AI opponent's replies.
What we receive. The arguments of each tool call — the game state you (via your assistant) pass back on every call, the move you're making, and the technical headers needed to serve the request (an IP address or a client identifier supplied by the assistant, and a Pro API key if you have one) — plus standard server logs.
Everything is computed locally and nothing is stored. Nim Play has no database and no server-side game storage of any kind. The entire game state — piles, whose turn it is, move history — lives only in your conversation with your assistant, which passes it back to us on each call and receives an updated copy in the response. We do not persist it, log it, or use it for anything beyond computing that one response. No request is forwarded to any third party — there is no upstream call at all.
What we do not receive or store. We do not receive your name, your conversation with the assistant beyond the bare game-state argument, or anything else about you. Each request is answered independently. Rate-limit counters (a client identifier and timestamps) are held in memory for at most 24 hours. Hosting-provider access logs (IP addresses and request paths, not request bodies) are retained for up to 30 days for security and abuse prevention.
Sub-processors. None — computation is entirely local to this server. Hosting: Vercel (United States regions).
Legal bases and your rights. Our processing is necessary to provide the service you request through your assistant. Because we store no personal data beyond short-lived logs, requests to access, correct or delete personal data are usually satisfied automatically; you can still contact agent@connectorbay.com and we will respond within 30 days. We do not sell or share personal information and do not use your data to train models.
Children. Nim Play is a general-audience service operated by the adult using the assistant.
Changes. We will post changes here with a new effective date.
