What Norway Company Check is for

Norway Company Check reads the Bronnoysund Register Centre's open Enhetsregisteret API (no key needed). It validates a Norwegian organisation number offline (nine digits, modulus-11 check digit), fetches a legal entity or a sub-unit with its organisation form, status flags (bankruptcy, liquidation, compulsory liquidation, deletion date), industry code, registered number of employees, registration dates and whether it is in the VAT register, searches by name with filters and paging that respects the register's 10,000-row window, lists what was added, changed or deleted since a timestamp for a supplier watch, explains the nightly bulk files, and builds a compact due-diligence summary that names the fields used and the retrieval date. Sole proprietorships (ENK) are reported without name and address because they identify a person; role holders and personal data are not used. Read-only: nothing is stored. Data: Bronnoysund Register Centre; published under the Norwegian Licence for Open Government Data (NLOD 2.0), which two Register Centre pages name; the attribution is carried in every answer and the data is changed (fields selected, renamed, names withheld). General information only; independent of and not affiliated with the Bronnoysund Register Centre or any government body.

Ask your assistant things like:

  • "Is this Norwegian organisation number on the invoice correctly formed, or a typo?"
  • "What does the Norwegian register say about organisation number 974760673?"
  • "Find Norwegian companies with a given word in the name in municipality 1813."
  • "Which Norwegian entities changed in the register since Monday morning?"
  • "Is there a full download of the Norwegian entity register and how often does it refresh?"

What it does

What it is not

Norway Company Check is independent; not affiliated with, endorsed by or operated by any government body, central bank, standards body or scheme operator. Names of rails, schemes and standards are used only to say what a tool works with. It is read-only: it never sends, pays, files or signs anything for you, and it never looks up private individuals.

Not advice. General information only, not legal, tax, accounting or payment advice. Norway Company Check is an independent tool: it is not affiliated with, endorsed by or operated by any government body, central bank, standards body or scheme operator. Rates, thresholds and rules change; check the cited official source and confirm with a qualified professional before you rely on a result.

Conventions

  • Read-only. Every tool reads public data or computes; nothing is written anywhere and nothing about the user is stored.
  • Result envelope. ok: true with data, or ok: false with a structured error (bad_input, not_found, upstream_error). degraded lists optional sources that were unreachable.
  • Rate limits. Free tier 60 tool calls/minute and 300/day per user (keyed on the user identifier supplied by the host agent, else client IP); Pro keys raise this. Over-limit calls return HTTP 429 with Retry-After. initialize and tools/list are never counted.
