Real questions, and the tools your agent calls to answer them.
convertcolor_infonamed_colorharmonycontrast_ratioaccessible_paircolorblind_simulategradientshades_tintsnamed_colormixPalette bundles color and design-system math into one connector, computed from published formulas rather than looked up. Convert between hex, RGB, HSL, HSV and CMYK, accepting hex, rgb()/rgba(), hsl()/hsla() or any of the 148 CSS Color Module Level 4 named colors. Color info adds the nearest and exact CSS name, luminance, brightness and the best text color. Harmony generates complementary, analogous, triadic, tetradic, square, split-complementary, double-complementary and monochromatic palettes. Contrast checks the WCAG 2.x ratio with AA/AAA pass/fail for normal text, large text and UI components, and accessible_pair suggests or adjusts a text color until it clears AA. Color-blindness simulation covers protanopia, deuteranopia, tritanopia (published confusion-line matrices) and achromatopsia. Gradient interpolates any number of steps between colors in RGB or HSL space. Shades/tints/tones build a design-system color ladder. Named color looks up or identifies CSS colors. Mix blends two colors by ratio in normal, multiply, screen or overlay mode. Keyless; nothing stored.
Sources: Standard color-space math, WCAG 2.x contrast formula, published color-vision-deficiency matrices, bundled CSS named-color table — no upstream calls

Convert — hex, RGB, HSL, HSV and CMYK, both directions, accepting hex, rgb()/rgba(), hsl()/hsla() or any
of the 148 CSS Color Module Level 4 named colors. Color info — everything from convert, plus the nearest and
exact CSS name, relative luminance, brightness and the best (black or white) text color for that background.
Harmony — complementary, analogous, triadic, tetradic, square, split-complementary, double-complementary and
monochromatic palettes generated from one base color. Contrast — the WCAG 2.x contrast ratio between two colors
with pass/fail for AA and AAA at normal text, large text and UI-component thresholds. Accessible pair — the best
text color for a background, or a preferred color nudged along its own hue/saturation until it clears AA. Color-
blindness simulation — protanopia, deuteranopia and tritanopia via published confusion-line projection matrices,
plus achromatopsia (full grayscale). Gradient — interpolate any number of steps between two or more colors, in
RGB or HSL space (HSL gives smoother hue transitions). Shades/tints/tones — a ladder from a base color toward
black, white and gray, the way a design system builds a 50–900 color scale. Named color — exact or partial
lookup by name, or nearest-name for any color value. Mix — blend two colors by ratio, in normal, multiply,
screen or overlay mode.
A calculator, not a source of brand guidelines or licensed color libraries — every named color is the public CSS standard set, not a proprietary palette (Pantone, RAL, etc). Color-blindness simulation uses widely-published approximation matrices; individual perception varies and this is not a diagnostic tool.
convert — Convert a color between hex, RGB, HSL, HSV and CMYK. Use for "convert #3B82F6 to HSL". Args: color.
color_info — Full conversions plus nearest/exact CSS name, luminance, brightness and the best text color for that background. Use for "what color is rgb(219, 39, 119)", "what's the nearest named color to #FF6B35". Args: color.
named_color — Look up a CSS color by name (exact or partial match), or find the nearest CSS name to a color value. Use for "hex for rebeccapurple", "what's the nearest named color to #FF6B35". Args: query.
harmony — Generate a color harmony/palette from a base color. Use for "generate a triadic palette from #10B981". Args: color, scheme, count.
gradient — Interpolate N steps between two or more colors, in RGB or HSL space. Use for "gradient from blue to purple in 8 steps". Args: colors, steps, space.
shades_tints — A ladder of tints (toward white), shades (toward black) and tones (toward gray) from a base color. Use for "tints and shades of teal". Args: color, steps.
mix — Mix two colors by ratio, like paint or a blend mode. Use for "mix red and blue 50/50", "multiply coral over navy at 30%". Args: color1, color2, ratio, mode.
contrast_ratio — WCAG 2.x contrast ratio between two colors, with AA/AAA pass/fail for normal text, large text and UI components. Use for "contrast ratio of white text on #1E3A8A". Args: foreground, background.
accessible_pair — The best text color (black or white) for a background, or an accessibility-adjusted version of a preferred color. Use for "what text color works on this background". Args: background, preferred_text_color.
colorblind_simulate — Simulate how a color appears under a color-vision deficiency. Use for "simulate deuteranopia for #EF4444". Args: color, deficiency.

What Palette is. Palette is a connector (an MCP server and REST API) that AI assistants and personal agents call on your behalf for color and design-system math: format conversion, color identification, harmony/palette generation, WCAG contrast checking, color-blindness simulation, gradients, tint/shade ladders and color mixing. You interact with your assistant; the assistant sends us only the color values and settings needed for that one calculation.
What we receive. The arguments of each tool call — a color value (hex, RGB, HSL or a CSS name), a harmony scheme, a foreground/background pair, a color-blindness type, a list of gradient colors, or a mix ratio and mode — the technical headers needed to serve the request (an IP address or a client identifier supplied by the assistant, and a Pro API key if you have one), and standard server logs.
Everything is computed on our server and nothing is stored. Every tool is a color-space or WCAG calculation from published formulas and a bundled table of the 148 standard CSS color names; no request is forwarded to any third party, and no input is logged in request bodies, recorded, or used to train anything.
What we do not receive or store. We do not receive your conversation with the assistant, your name, contacts, or account credentials. Rate-limit counters (a client identifier and timestamps) are held in memory for at most 24 hours. Hosting-provider access logs, which contain IP addresses and request paths but not request bodies, are retained for up to 30 days for security and abuse prevention.
Sub-processors. None — every tool is computed locally. Hosting: Vercel (United States regions).
Legal bases and your rights. For users in California, the EU/UK and elsewhere, our processing is necessary to provide the service you request through your assistant. Because we store no personal data beyond short-lived logs, requests to access, correct or delete personal data are usually satisfied automatically; you can still contact agent@connectorbay.com and we will respond within 30 days. We do not sell or share personal information and do not use your data to train models.
Children. Palette is a general-audience service operated by the adult using the assistant.
Changes. We will post changes here with a new effective date.
