A pet's death is a legitimate, common, non-medical topic — this reference never pathologizes normal grief and always points toward real support rather than replacing it. Keyless; fully local; zero upstream calls; nothing you submit is stored.

It answers with practical, general information, never a diagnosis and never a script for what you should feel.
grief_process_overview gives a normalizing overview of what pet-loss grief commonly looks like as a process
— no fixed timeline, not a straight line, shaped by the circumstances of the loss. common_feelings_reference
normalizes a range of feelings (sadness, guilt, relief, anger, numbness, physical symptoms, feeling isolated in
the grief) without telling any individual what they personally feel. coping_ideas gives gentle, non-
prescriptive ideas framed as options to consider, not instructions. memorial_ideas covers ways some people
choose to memorialize a pet. talking_to_children_guide gives practical, age-appropriate tips for discussing a
pet's death with children honestly, including why clear language beats confusing euphemisms.
anniversaries_and_hard_days_guide covers difficult recurring dates like an adoption anniversary or the date
of the loss. when_to_seek_support_guide gives general, non-diagnostic signals that professional support might
help — framed as an ordinary, reasonable step that doesn't require things to be "bad enough" first.
find_support_resources_guide gives real categories of support (a veterinarian, veterinary-school pet-loss
support programs, pet loss support groups, a grief counselor experienced with pet loss, and people in your
life) rather than fabricated specific hotline numbers. glossary defines terms used elsewhere
(disenfranchised grief, anticipatory grief, companion animal, euthanasia, Rainbow Bridge, pet loss support
hotline).
Not a diagnosis, not veterinary advice, not grief counseling or therapy, and not a substitute for the people already in your life. A pet's death is a legitimate, common, non-medical experience — this reference never pathologizes normal grief, never uses self-destructive framing, and consistently points toward real veterinary, grief-counseling, and community support rather than replacing it. It stays scoped to everyday coping and remembrance, not crisis support of any kind.

What Pet Loss is. Pet Loss is a connector (an MCP server and REST API) that AI assistants and personal agents call on your behalf for a hand-curated, wellbeing-safe reference for coping with the loss of a pet — general guidance, memorial ideas, and resource-finding pointers. You interact with your assistant; the assistant sends us only the arguments needed for that one lookup.
What we receive. The arguments of each tool call — a topic name or a glossary term — the technical headers needed to serve the request (an IP address or a client identifier supplied by the assistant, and a Pro API key if you have one), and standard server logs.
Everything is answered from bundled, hand-curated reference content and nothing is stored. No request is forwarded to any third party — there is no upstream call at all, live or otherwise — and no query is logged in request bodies, recorded, or used to train anything.
What we do not receive or store. We do not receive your conversation with the assistant or your name, and we do not build a profile from your queries: each request is answered independently and nothing carries over between requests. Rate-limit counters (a client identifier and timestamps) are held in memory for at most 24 hours. Hosting-provider access logs, which contain IP addresses and request paths but not request bodies, are retained for up to 30 days for security and abuse prevention.
Sub-processors. None — the entire dataset is bundled with the server and answered locally. Hosting: Vercel (United States regions).
Legal bases and your rights. Our processing is necessary to provide the service you request through your assistant. Because we store no personal data beyond short-lived logs, requests to access, correct or delete personal data are usually satisfied automatically; you can still contact agent@connectorbay.com and we will respond within 30 days. We do not sell or share personal information and do not use your data to train models.
Children. Pet Loss is a general-audience service operated by the adult using the assistant.
Changes. We will post changes here with a new effective date.
