About

Pixelmath is a fully local image resize/crop/DPI calculator toolkit. pixels_for_print computes the pixel dimensions needed to print at a given physical size and DPI. effective_dpi computes the real DPI a given pixel count works out to at a target print size, using the lower of the two dimension-based figures when the aspect ratio doesn't match. aspect_ratio_identify simplifies a width/height into a reduced ratio and names the closest common aspect ratio. aspect_ratio_crop computes the largest centered crop matching a target ratio. resize_calculator computes a missing dimension from a target width, height, or scale percentage while preserving aspect ratio, with an upscale quality-risk flag. cover_fit_crop computes the crop-then-scale needed to exactly fill a target pixel box without distortion (the 'cover' fit for thumbnails). megapixel_calculator computes total megapixels and simplified ratio from pixel dimensions. print_size_table computes required pixel dimensions for common print sizes (or a custom list) at a given DPI. dpi_class_info classifies a DPI value into a commonly cited quality tier. pixelmath_glossary defines DPI, PPI, resolution, aspect ratio, resampling, upsampling, downsampling, raster image, megapixel, and native resolution. Keyless; fully local; zero upstream calls; nothing stored.

Sources: Standard, well-known image-resolution formulas (pixels = inches x DPI, aspect-ratio-preserving crop math); named print sizes and DPI-quality tiers are commonly cited planning conventions, not universal standards. Fully local, zero upstream calls.

What Pixelmath is for

"What resolution do I need to print an 8x10 at 300 dpi?", "what aspect ratio is 1920x1080?", "crop 4000x3000 to 16:9", "is 150 dpi good enough to print?" — a real image-math calculator for photographers, print designers and anyone prepping images for a specific size or resolution.

What it does

pixels_for_print computes the pixel dimensions needed to print at a given physical size and DPI. effective_dpi computes the real DPI a given pixel count works out to at a target print size. aspect_ratio_identify simplifies a width/height into a reduced ratio and names the closest common aspect ratio. aspect_ratio_crop computes the largest centered crop matching a target ratio. resize_calculator computes a missing dimension from a target width, height, or scale percentage, with an upscale quality-risk flag. cover_fit_crop computes the exact crop-and-scale needed to fill a target pixel box without distortion — the standard "cover" fit used for thumbnails and avatars. megapixel_calculator computes total megapixels and ratio from pixel dimensions. print_size_table computes required pixel dimensions for common (or custom) print sizes at a given DPI. dpi_class_info classifies a DPI value into a commonly cited quality tier, and pixelmath_glossary defines the vocabulary.

What it is not

Not an image editor — nothing here reads, writes, or transforms an actual image file; every tool takes numbers (pixel dimensions, inches, DPI) and returns computed numbers. Named print sizes and DPI-quality tiers are widely used planning conventions, not government or industry standards — perceived print quality also depends on viewing distance, the printer, and the paper.

Privacy policy

Pixelmath — Privacy Policy

Effective 25 September 2026. Unify Dynamics LLC ("we", "us"), Menlo Park, California.

What Pixelmath is. Pixelmath is a connector (an MCP server and REST API) that AI assistants and personal agents call on your behalf for image resize/crop/DPI calculations. You interact with your assistant; the assistant sends us only the numeric arguments needed for that one calculation.

No image files, ever. Every tool takes numbers — pixel dimensions, inches, DPI, a ratio string — and returns computed numbers. Pixelmath never receives, processes, or stores an actual image file.

What we receive. The numeric arguments of each tool call, the technical headers needed to serve the request (an IP address or a client identifier supplied by the assistant, and a Pro API key if you have one), and standard server logs.

Everything is computed and nothing is stored. No request is forwarded to any third party — there is no upstream call at all — and no query is logged in request bodies, recorded, or used to train anything.

What we do not receive or store. We do not receive your conversation with the assistant or your name, and we do not build a profile from your queries: each request is answered independently and nothing carries over between requests. Rate-limit counters (a client identifier and timestamps) are held in memory for at most 24 hours. Hosting-provider access logs, which contain IP addresses and request paths but not request bodies, are retained for up to 30 days for security and abuse prevention.

Sub-processors. None. Hosting: Vercel (United States regions).

Legal bases and your rights. Our processing is necessary to provide the service you request through your assistant. Because we store no personal data beyond short-lived logs, requests to access, correct or delete personal data are usually satisfied automatically; you can still contact agent@connectorbay.com and we will respond within 30 days. We do not sell or share personal information and do not use your data to train models.

Children. Pixelmath is a general-audience service operated by the adult using the assistant.

Changes. We will post changes here with a new effective date.

Terms of service

Pixelmath — Terms of Service

Effective 25 September 2026. These terms govern use of the Pixelmath connector ("the Service") operated by Unify Dynamics LLC ("we", "us").

  1. The Service. Pixelmath returns real computed image-resolution math — print-resolution, effective DPI, aspect-ratio and crop math, resize math, megapixel calculation, and print-size/DPI reference tables. It is accessed through an AI assistant or directly over MCP or HTTP, and takes only numeric/text arguments, never an image file.
  2. Reference math, not an editor. The Service computes numbers from the numbers you provide; it does not read, store, or transform an actual image file, and named print sizes and DPI-quality tiers are commonly cited planning conventions, not guarantees of a specific printed result.
  3. Acceptable use. Automated use within the published rate limits is welcome.
  4. Availability. The Service is provided "as is" without warranty. We may change, limit or discontinue it at any time.
  5. Data. Our Privacy Policy describes what we process. In short: your numeric inputs are computed on, and nothing — least of all an image file — is stored.
  6. Pro keys. Optional Pro API keys are issued at our discretion, are personal to the holder and may be revoked for abuse.
  7. Liability. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Unify Dynamics LLC is not liable for any loss, injury, or damage arising from use of, or reliance on, the Service — including a printed result that doesn't match expectations due to printer, paper, or viewing-distance factors this Service can't account for. Our total liability is limited to US $100.
  8. Governing law. California law; venue in San Mateo County, California.
