Real questions, and the tools your agent calls to answer them.
equipment_tierequipment_tier_listroom_acoustics_tipsrecording_format_recommendationremote_guest_workflowmic_technique_tipsvideo_framing_tipstroubleshootchecklist_generatorpodcast_glossaryPodstage is a fully local, hand-curated podcast and video-podcast production reference. equipment_tier gives a generic-by-category gear checklist (mic, mounting, monitoring, interface, software, room treatment, plus camera/lighting/background for video) for a starter, intermediate or studio budget, with an approximate budget band; equipment_tier_list shows all three. room_acoustics_tips covers reflection, absorption, isolation and placement. recording_format_recommendation gives sample-rate, bit-depth, container, delivery-codec and loudness (LUFS)/true-peak guidance. remote_guest_workflow explains recording the call itself, a double-ender, or browser-based multi-track capture, with pros and cons of each. mic_technique_tips and video_framing_tips are concrete on-mic/on-camera guidance. troubleshoot keyword-matches a symptom (echo, hum, clipping, plosives, sibilance, monitoring latency, sync drift, missing guest audio) to likely fixes. checklist_generator assembles an ordered pre-recording checklist for audio-only, video or remote-interview setups. podcast_glossary defines core recording terms. Keyless; fully local; zero upstream calls; nothing stored.
Sources: Hand-curated from widely published general audio/video-production practice (sample-rate and loudness-target conventions, room-acoustics principles, gain-staging practice) as of build date; fully local, zero upstream calls

"What mic should I buy on a $300 budget?", "how do I stop my room sounding echoey?", "what sample rate should I record at?", "how do people get good audio from a remote guest?" — a practical, hand-curated podcast and video-podcast production reference that answers with concrete, generic-by-category guidance rather than a vague "it depends."
equipment_tier gives a full gear checklist — microphone, mounting, monitoring, interface, software and room
treatment, plus camera/lighting/background for a video podcast — for a starter, intermediate or studio budget,
described generically by category (never a specific brand or model, since prices and availability change
constantly) with an approximate budget band. equipment_tier_list shows all three tiers at a glance.
room_acoustics_tips covers the four practical levers for a better-sounding room: reflection (treating
first-reflection points), absorption (soft materials vs. flutter echo), isolation (keeping outside noise out) and
placement (where in the room to actually sit). recording_format_recommendation gives sample-rate, bit-depth,
recording-container, delivery-codec and loudness (LUFS)/true-peak guidance for both recording and final export.
remote_guest_workflow explains three real ways to record a remote guest — recording the call itself, a
double-ender (each side records locally and syncs in post), or browser-based multi-track capture — with the
tradeoffs of each spelled out. mic_technique_tips and video_framing_tips give quick, concrete on-mic/on-camera
guidance. troubleshoot keyword-matches a symptom (echo, hum, clipping, plosives, sibilance, monitoring latency,
audio/video sync drift, missing remote-guest audio) to likely causes and fixes. checklist_generator assembles an
ordered pre-recording checklist for an audio-only, video, or remote-interview session. podcast_glossary defines
the core recording terms — XLR, phantom power, gain staging, proximity effect, LUFS, and more.
Not a shopping engine and not tied to any specific brand, model, or live price — every equipment recommendation is described by category and a broad approximate budget band, because a specific product's price and availability are never something a fully local, keyless connector can verify live. It's also not a mixing/mastering engine: loudness and format targets reflect widely published general industry practice, and you should always check your specific delivery platform's current audio specification before a final export.

What Podstage is. Podstage is a connector (an MCP server and REST API) that AI assistants and personal agents call on your behalf for a hand-curated, fully local podcast and video-podcast production reference — equipment checklists, room-acoustics tips, recording-format guidance, remote-guest workflows, mic technique, on-camera framing, a troubleshooting guide, a checklist builder and a glossary. You interact with your assistant; the assistant sends us only the arguments needed for that one lookup.
What we receive. The arguments of each tool call — a budget tier, a room-acoustics category, a recording mode, a remote-guest scenario, a troubleshooting symptom, or a setup type — the technical headers needed to serve the request (an IP address or a client identifier supplied by the assistant, and a Pro API key if you have one), and standard server logs.
Everything is answered from bundled, hand-curated reference data and nothing is stored. No request is forwarded to any third party — there is no upstream call at all, live or otherwise — and no query is logged in request bodies, recorded, or used to train anything.
What we do not receive or store. We do not receive your conversation with the assistant or your name, and we do not build a profile from your queries: each request is answered independently and nothing carries over between requests. Rate-limit counters (a client identifier and timestamps) are held in memory for at most 24 hours. Hosting-provider access logs, which contain IP addresses and request paths but not request bodies, are retained for up to 30 days for security and abuse prevention.
Sub-processors. None — the entire reference is bundled with the server and answered locally. Hosting: Vercel (United States regions).
Legal bases and your rights. Our processing is necessary to provide the service you request through your assistant. Because we store no personal data beyond short-lived logs, requests to access, correct or delete personal data are usually satisfied automatically; you can still contact agent@connectorbay.com and we will respond within 30 days. We do not sell or share personal information and do not use your data to train models.
Children. Podstage is a general-audience service operated by the adult using the assistant.
Changes. We will post changes here with a new effective date.
