25 real Punjabi folk riddles in Gurmukhi script, each verified against a real source (Punjabi Wikipedia's
ਬੁਝਾਰਤਾਂ and ਮੁਕਰੀਆਂ articles), across seven categories — Nature & Sky, Household Objects, Animals, Body & Self,
Food & Farming, Mukri (Self-Answering), and Wordplay. riddle_of_the_day and random_riddle surface one riddle
at a time, answer included. riddles_by_category and categories_list browse by type. search_riddles finds
riddles by keyword. check_answer fuzzy-matches a guess against the real answer, so close wording or a partial
word still counts as correct — useful for an interactive guessing game. tongue_twisters and explain_wordplay
surface short alliterative and reduplicative phrases from the riddle tradition — like ਗੋਲ ਮਟੋਲ (gol matol,
"round and plump") or ਕਾਲੀ ਕਾਲੀ ਗਾਂ (kaali kaali gaā, "black, black cow") — and explain the sound pattern
behind each one.
Not a claim that Punjabi has a separately-documented "tongue-twister" genre distinct from its riddles: extensive searching turned up no verifiable canonical Punjabi tongue-twisters, so rather than invent any, this reference is honest about reusing genuinely alliterative phrases already present in its sourced riddles. Every riddle here is about wit, wordplay, and everyday objects — never about any group of people, caste, or community. It is not exhaustive; an entry that could not be verified against a real source was left out rather than guessed at. Fully local, zero upstream calls, nothing stored.
riddle_of_the_day — One Punjabi riddle, deterministically chosen by today's date so it's the same for everyone all day. The answer is included — use random_riddle if you want to guess first. Use for "Punjabi riddle of the day".
random_riddle — A randomly chosen Punjabi riddle, answer included. Use for "give me a random Punjabi riddle", "surprise me with a riddle". Args: seed.
riddles_by_category — Every riddle in one category. Use categories_list to see valid category names. Use for "Punjabi riddles about animals", "self-answering Punjabi riddle-poems". Args: category.
categories_list — Every riddle category with how many riddles are tagged under it. Use for "what categories of Punjabi riddles do you have".
search_riddles — Keyword search across every riddle's Gurmukhi text, romanization, English hint, answer and category. Use for "Punjabi riddle about the moon", "riddle with answer comb". Args: query.
check_answer — Fuzzy-matches a guessed answer against a riddle's real answer — close wording, partial words, or a plausible synonym still count as correct. Use for "is 'lamp' the right answer to this riddle". Args: riddle_id, guess.
tongue_twisters — Short alliterative and reduplicative wordplay phrases drawn from the Punjabi oral riddle tradition — prized for their sound play (repeated consonants, rhyming doubled words) rather than attested as a separate canonical tongue-twister genre. Use for "Punjabi tongue twisters", "alliterative Punjabi phrases".
explain_wordplay — Explains the sound pattern — alliteration, reduplication, or rhyme — behind one wordplay phrase, and which riddle it comes from. Use for "explain the wordplay in this Punjabi phrase". Args: wordplay_id.
ok: true with data, or ok: false with a structured error (bad_input, not_found, upstream_error). degraded lists optional sources that were unreachable.Retry-After. initialize and tools/list are never counted.agent@connectorbay.com · connectorbay.com/punjabiriddles/support

What Punjabi Riddles is. Punjabi Riddles is a connector (an MCP server and REST API) that AI assistants and personal agents call on your behalf for a hand-curated Punjabi folk-riddle reference: riddle of the day, random riddle, category browsing, keyword search, fuzzy answer checking, and wordplay explanations. You interact with your assistant; the assistant sends us only the arguments needed for that one lookup.
What we receive. The arguments of each tool call — a riddle id, a keyword, a category name, or a guessed answer — the technical headers needed to serve the request (an IP address or a client identifier supplied by the assistant, and a Pro API key if you have one), and standard server logs.
Everything is answered from a bundled, hand-curated reference file and nothing is stored. No request is forwarded to any third party — there is no upstream call at all, live or otherwise — and no query, including your guessed answers, is logged in request bodies, recorded, or used to train anything.
What we do not receive or store. We do not receive your conversation with the assistant or your name, and we do not build a profile from your queries: each request is answered independently and nothing carries over between requests. Rate-limit counters (a client identifier and timestamps) are held in memory for at most 24 hours. Hosting-provider access logs, which contain IP addresses and request paths but not request bodies, are retained for up to 30 days for security and abuse prevention.
Sub-processors. None — the entire dataset is bundled with the server and answered locally. Hosting: Vercel (United States regions).
Legal bases and your rights. Our processing is necessary to provide the service you request through your assistant. Because we store no personal data beyond short-lived logs, requests to access, correct or delete personal data are usually satisfied automatically; you can still contact agent@connectorbay.com and we will respond within 30 days. We do not sell or share personal information and do not use your data to train models.
Children. Punjabi Riddles is a general-audience service operated by the adult using the assistant.
Changes. We will post changes here with a new effective date.
