format_info — Full detail on one trivia round format: how it works, what it's best for, pros/cons, and hosting tips. Omit the name to list every format with a one-line summary. Use for "how does a wager round work", "what's a lightning round", "list every round format you know". Args: name.
scoring_system — Explains one trivia scoring system: how it works, pros/cons, and what kind of night it suits. Omit the name to list every system with a one-line summary. Use for "what scoring system should I use", "how does negative marking work", "list every scoring system you know". Args: name.
tiebreaker_method — Explains one way to break a tie at the end of a trivia night: how it works, hosting tips, and what situation it suits. Omit the name to list every method with a one-line summary. question_writing_tip — Actionable technique for writing better trivia questions: difficulty calibration, avoiding ambiguity, avoiding overly obscure trivia, clear wording, multiple-choice distractor design, avoiding regional bias or stale facts, fact-checking, avoiding double negatives, category balance, pacing, avoiding giveaways, and handling sensitive topics. Omit the topic to list them all. Use for "how do I calibrate trivia difficulty", "how do I avoid ambiguous questions", "tips for writing multiple choice options". Args: topic.
category_idea_generator — Suggests 6-8 sub-category angles for a themed trivia night, e.g. "movies" -> decade deep-dives, movie quotes, behind-the-camera trivia, award winners, and more. Matches a curated theme first (movies, music, television, sports, history, geography, science, literature, food & drink, video games, pop culture, animals & nature, art & design, technology, holidays & seasons); falls back to a generic set of angle templates for any other theme. Use for "give me sub-categories for a movies trivia night", "ideas for a space-themed quiz round". Args: theme.
round_structure_planner — Builds a suggested round-by-round schedule for a trivia night: a recommended format for each round (starting with an easy warm-up, ending on a strong finish, with a wager round placed once points are on the board), a time budget per round, and a suggested question count, given a total event length and desired number of rounds. Also suggests an intro/outro budget and whether a halfway break fits. Use for "help me plan a 90 minute quiz with 6 rounds", "how should I structure a 2 hour trivia night". Args: total_time, num_rounds.
term_glossary — Definitions of common trivia-hosting lingo — pub quiz, buzzer, halfway break, marking scheme, blind marking, peer marking, countback, dead heat, round robin, honor system, leaderboard, accumulator question, rebound question, and more. Use for "what's a countback", "what does 'blind marking' mean", "what's a dead heat in trivia". Args: term.
beginner_tips — A ranked shortlist of the most useful, practical tips for a first-time trivia host, from most to least essential. Use for "tips for a first-time quiz host", "what should I know before hosting my first trivia night". Args: count.

What Quizmaster is. Quizmaster is a connector (an MCP server and REST API) that AI assistants and personal agents call on your behalf for a hand-curated trivia-night hosting and format reference — round formats, scoring, tiebreakers and planning. You interact with your assistant; the assistant sends us only the arguments needed for that one lookup.
What we receive. The arguments of each tool call, the technical headers needed to serve the request (an IP address or a client identifier supplied by the assistant, and a Pro API key if you have one), and standard server logs.
Everything is answered from a bundled, hand-curated reference file and nothing is stored. No request is forwarded to any third party — there is no upstream call at all, live or otherwise — and no query is logged in request bodies, recorded, or used to train anything.
What we do not receive or store. We do not receive your conversation with the assistant or your name, and we do not build a profile from your queries: each request is answered independently and nothing carries over between requests. Rate-limit counters (a client identifier and timestamps) are held in memory for at most 24 hours. Hosting-provider access logs, which contain IP addresses and request paths but not request bodies, are retained for up to 30 days for security and abuse prevention.
Sub-processors. None — the entire dataset is bundled with the server and answered locally. Hosting: Vercel (United States regions).
Legal bases and your rights. Our processing is necessary to provide the service you request through your assistant. Because we store no personal data beyond short-lived logs, requests to access, correct or delete personal data are usually satisfied automatically; you can still contact agent@connectorbay.com and we will respond within 30 days. We do not sell or share personal information and do not use your data to train models.
Children. Quizmaster is a general-audience service operated by the adult using the assistant.
Changes. We will post changes here with a new effective date.
