The true landed cost of a money transfer -- flat fees, percentage fees, and hidden FX margins
Unify Dynamics LLC
Real questions, and the tools your agent calls to answer them.
true_cost_calculatorcompare_transfer_optionsremittance_glossaryremittance_glossarycorridor_cost_factorsRemitCompare is a remittance-fee comparison methodology toolkit. true_cost_calculator takes a send amount, a mid-market exchange rate, and any combination of a flat fee, percentage fee, and hidden FX margin, and computes exactly what the recipient receives, the true total cost in both currencies, and the effective total fee as a percentage of the amount sent. compare_transfer_options runs the same computation across two or more hypothetical fee structures and ranks them by what the recipient actually ends up with -- showing that the lowest advertised fee isn't always the cheapest once a hidden FX margin is counted. remittance_glossary defines mid-market rate, FX margin, flat vs percentage fee, landed cost, corridor, correspondent banking, value date, and cash pickup. corridor_cost_factors is a generic reference on why some currency corridors cost more: liquidity, competition, correspondent-banking chains, regulatory burden, volatility, and delivery method. Educational methodology only, not tied to any named provider's live rates; does not process real transfers or store payment credentials.
Sources: Computed locally from the mid-market rate and fee figures you provide; not tied to, and does not fetch or quote, any named money-transfer provider's live rates -- fully local, zero upstream calls, does not process real transfers

"I'm sending $1,000 at an 83 mid-market rate with a $5 fee and a 2% exchange-rate margin — what does the recipient actually get", "compare a $30 flat fee with no margin against a $0 fee with a 5% margin", "why does sending money to some countries cost more than others" — the math behind understanding what a money transfer REALLY costs, beyond the one fee number a provider advertises.
true_cost_calculator takes a send amount, a mid-market exchange rate, and any combination of a flat fee, a
percentage fee, and a hidden exchange-rate margin (a markup below the mid-market rate that providers apply to
the actual conversion but rarely disclose as a "fee"), and computes exactly what the recipient receives, the
true total cost in both the send and receive currency, and the effective total cost as a percentage of the
amount sent. compare_transfer_options runs the same computation across two or more hypothetical fee
structures at once and ranks them by what the recipient actually ends up with — demonstrating that the option
advertising the lowest fee is not always the cheapest once a hidden FX margin is counted. remittance_glossary
defines the underlying concepts: mid-market rate, FX margin, flat vs. percentage fee, landed cost, corridor,
correspondent banking, value date, cash pickup. corridor_cost_factors is a generic reference — not tied to
any specific country pair's live rates — on why some currency corridors cost more to send through than others:
liquidity, provider competition, correspondent-banking chain length, regulatory burden, volatility, and
delivery method.
Not tied to, and does not quote, any named money-transfer provider's live rates — every number comes from the mid-market rate and fee structure you supply as a hypothetical or as what a provider told you. It does not process real transfers, move money, or store any real payment credentials or account information. Real mid-market rates move constantly; always check your chosen provider's actual quoted rate and fee at the moment you send money rather than relying solely on a figure computed here.

What RemitCompare is. RemitCompare is a connector (an MCP server and REST API) that AI assistants and personal agents call on your behalf to run a hypothetical remittance-cost calculation or comparison. It does not process real money transfers. You interact with your assistant; the assistant sends us only the numbers needed for that one calculation.
What we receive. The arguments of each tool call — a send amount, a mid-market exchange rate you supply, and hypothetical fee figures (flat fee, percentage fee, FX margin), or a glossary/reference term — the technical headers needed to serve the request (an IP address or a client identifier supplied by the assistant, and a Pro API key if you have one), and standard server logs.
Everything is computed locally from the numbers you provide, and nothing is stored. There is no upstream call of any kind — this connector holds no live exchange-rate feed and does not connect to any named money-transfer provider — and no request, including any amount or rate you enter, is logged in request bodies, recorded, or used to train anything.
What we do not receive or store, and what we never process. We do not receive your conversation with the assistant, and we do not build a profile from your queries: each request is computed independently and nothing carries over between requests. RemitCompare does NOT process real money transfers, does not move money, and does not receive, request, or store real payment credentials, bank account numbers, card numbers, or recipient personal information of any kind — it is a pure calculator over numbers you type in. Rate-limit counters (a client identifier and timestamps) are held in memory for at most 24 hours. Hosting-provider access logs, which contain IP addresses and request paths but not request bodies, are retained for up to 30 days for security and abuse prevention.
Sub-processors. None — every calculation runs locally with no dataset and no upstream call of any kind. Hosting: Vercel (United States regions).
Legal bases and your rights. Our processing is necessary to provide the service you request through your assistant. Because we store no personal data beyond short-lived logs, requests to access, correct or delete personal data are usually satisfied automatically; you can still contact agent@connectorbay.com and we will respond within 30 days. We do not sell or share personal information and do not use your data to train models.
Children. RemitCompare is a general-audience service for adults; we knowingly collect no personal data from anyone.
Changes. We will post changes here with a new effective date.
